The Azerbaijani National Badminton Championships is a tournament organized to crown the best badminton players in Azerbaijan. They are held since the season 1996/1997.

Badminton Europe (BE) is the governing body of badminton in Europe. It is one of the five continental bodies under the flag of the Badminton World Federation (BWF). It has 53 member associations and 1 associate member. It was founded on 27 September 1967 in Frankfurt, Germany.
USSR National Badminton Championships are officially held since the year 1963. After the end of the Soviet Union, the majority of the former Soviet Republics started own championships like the Azerbaijani National Badminton Championships, Armenian National Badminton Championships, Georgian National Badminton Championships, Moldovan National Badminton Championships and Latvian National Badminton Championships.
Lianne Tan is a Belgian badminton player. She competed for Belgium at the 2012 London, 2016 Rio, and at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She was selected to participate in the 2012 Summer Olympics, together with her brother Yuhan. In 2015, she won the silver medal in the European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Lucas Maurice Corvée is a French badminton player affiliated with Issy Les Moulineaux 92 club. Corvée started playing badminton at aged 6 in Alençon badminton club. His mother also a professional badminton player. He became a member of the France national badminton team in 2010, then in 2011, he won a bronze medal at the European Junior Championships in boys' doubles event. Corvée was the champion of the 2013 Puerto Rico International tournament in the men's doubles event partnered with Brice Leverdez.
Bastian Kersaudy is a French badminton player from the Chambly Oise club. He has won some international tournament includes, the 2014 Brazil International in the men's doubles event partnered with Gaetan Mittelheisser, the 2015 Slovenia International in the mixed doubles event partnered with Léa Palermo, and at the 2017 Estonian International tournament in the men's doubles event partnered with Julien Maio.
Paweł Pietryja is a Polish badminton player who affiliate with UKS Plesbad Pszczyna. He competed at the 2015 European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. In 2016, he won two titles at the Hellas Open in the men's doubles event partnered with Miłosz Bochat and in the mixed doubles event with Aneta Wojtkowska.
Aneta Wojtkowska is a Polish badminton player. She won her first National Championships title in 2013 partnered with her sister Agnieszka Wojtkowska. She competed at the 2015 European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The 2018 edition of the European Men's and Women's Team Badminton Championships was held in Kazan, Russia, from 13 to 18 February 2018. This tournament also served as European qualification for the 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup.
Baku Sports Palace is an indoor arena located in Baku, Azerbaijan. Originally the arena is named as Palace of Hand Games until 2015. It is located near the Baku Boulevard on the Caspian Sea coast. It was built in 1974 and was renovated in 2015. The palace consists of 1736 seats.

The Uzbekistani junior team have competed in the BWF World Junior Championships mixed team event, which is also called the Suhandinata Cup. The team also competed in the Badminton Asia Junior Championships.
