Portuguese National Badminton Championships

The Portuguese National Badminton Championships is a tournament organized to crown the best badminton players in Portugal. The tournament started in 1956.

Koen Ridder Badminton player

Koen Ridder is a Dutch badminton player. The left handler Ridder, was a part of the Duinwijck badminton club. He won the men's doubles title at the national championships in 2009, 2011, and 2013 partnered with Ruud Bosch. Together with Bosch, they won some international tournament in Portugal, Belgium, Canada, Slovenia, Norway, Peru and Tahiti. He also play for the Düren 57 club in German. His parents, Rob and Marjan Ridder also a professional badminton players. Koen Ridder was elected vice-chair of the athlete commission of the BWF for a 4-year term in May 2015. In 2017 Ridder was chosen as Chair by his fellow commission members. He achieved his personal best world ranking of 22 in 2013. Magnus Sahlberg is a Swedish badminton player. He won the men's singles title at the National Championships in 2008, and in the men's doubles event in 2012. He also won the international level tournament at the 2006 Iceland International and 2009 Portugal International.

Ana Luisa Flôr Moura is a Portuguese badminton player from the Club Sports Madeira. Moura was the National Junior champion in the girls' singles and doubles event in 2004, and also in the girls' singles, doubles and mixed doubles event in 2005. At the National senior championships, she won once in the women's singles, three times in the women's doubles and two times in the mixed doubles event. In 2007, Moura won the singles title at the Iran and Algeria International tournaments, and in the doubles event at the Ecuador and Mauritius International tournaments. In the same year, she competed at the 2007 BWF World Championships in the women's singles, and was defeated in the second round by Xie Xingfang, of China, 21-2, 21-7. Moura also qualified to compete at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics, but she was defeated by Jeanine Cicognini of Switzerland in the first round with the score 21-9, 21-13. Ana Moura is back on court. At the season 2018/2019 she is playing at Secção de Badminton - Associação Académica de Coimbra.

Margaret Beck is a retired badminton player from England who ranked among the world's best during most of the 1970s.

Pedro Miguel Assunção Martins is a Portuguese badminton player who joined the national team in 2005. Trained at the ACD CHE Lagoense, Martins competed for Portugal at the 2012 London and 2016 Summer Olympics Men's singles event.

Telma Santos is a Portuguese badminton player. She competed for Portugal at the 2012 Summer Olympics and at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Santos is the niece of Fernando Silva, a badminton player who also represented Portugal in the 1992 Summer Olympics.

Daniel Vasconcellos Paiola is a Brazilian badminton player. He became the first Brazilian badminton player to win an individual medal in the Pan American Games when he won a bronze in the men's singles event at the 2011 Games, losing in the semi-finals to Guatemalan Kevin Cordón. He has medaled ten at the Pan American Badminton Championships, and is a one-time national champion.

Ygor Coelho de Oliveira is a badminton player from Brazil. He won the Pan Am Junior Badminton Championships six times in the boys' singles and 4 times in the mixed doubles event with Lohaynny Vicente. Oliveira who placed 27 in the world junior ranking competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China. He won his first senior international title at the 2014 Puerto Rico International in the men's singles event. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and became the first Brazil's male Olympic badminton player. He clinched three gold medals at the 2018 South American Games in the men's singles, doubles, and team event. Coelho won a gold medal in the men's singles at the 2019 Lima Pan American Games.

The Guatemala International is an open badminton tournament held in Guatemala. The tournament has been an International Series level in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2012, 2013, 2016, then in 2009 categorized as Future Series level, and in 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015 categorized as International Challenge by the Badminton World Federation. The tournament is sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation, so the players can improved their point in world ranking.

Jones Ralfy Jansen is an Indonesian badminton player and now represents Germany. He was a former PB Djarum players and has joined that club in 2007. In 2010, he awarded as the best Djarum player. He won his first senior international title at the 2013 Portugal International tournament in the mixed doubles event partnered with Keshya Nurvita Hanadia. He also won the 2014 Finnish and Turkey International tournaments with his sister Cisita Joity Jansen.

Bastian Kersaudy is a French badminton player from the Chambly Oise club. He has won some international tournament includes, the 2014 Brazil International in the men's doubles event partnered with Gaetan Mittelheisser, the 2015 Slovenia International in the mixed doubles event partnered with Léa Palermo, and at the 2017 Estonian International tournament in the men's doubles event partnered with Julien Maio.

Emma Wengberg is a Swedish female badminton player. In 2009, she won the Turkey International tournament in the women's doubles event partnered with Emelie Lennartsson. In 2011, she and Lennartsson also won the Scottish International tournament. In 2014, she won the Norwegian International tournament in the women's doubles event with Tilde Iversen of Denmark. In 2015, she won the Portugal and Finnish International tournaments in the mixed doubles event partnered with Filip Michael Duwall Myhren, and also won the women's doubles title at the Finland partnered with Clara Nistad. Paula Beatriz Pereira is a Brazilian female badminton player. She competed at the 2007 and 2015 Pan American Games. At the Brazilian National Badminton Championships, she won the women's singles title in 2011; women's doubles title in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012, and 2014; and in the mixed doubles title in 2012.

Jaqueline Lima Badminton player

Jaqueline Maria Lopes Lima is a Brazilian badminton player from Joca Claudino Esportes badminton club. She joined the Brazil national badminton team in 2016, and in 2017 she competed in the mixed team event at the 2017 Pan Am Badminton Championships where the team won silver medal. She won her first senior international title at the 2017 Brazil International Challenge tournament partnered with Samia Lima. Lima participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, and was part of the team Theta won the bronze medal in the mixed team event. At the 2019 Lima Pan American Games, she won two bronze medals in the women's and mixed doubles events.

Peck Yen Wei is a Malaysian badminton player. She started playing badminton at aged ten in Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Jinjang Utara. She made her debut in the international tournament in 2014, and at the same year she selected to join the national team. In the junior event, she was the champion at the U-18 2013 Thailand Junior Championship in the girls' doubles event. Peck won her first senior international title at the 2016 Portugal International tournament in the women's doubles event partnered with Goh Yea Ching. Teamed-up with the Olympic silver medalist Chan Peng Soon in the mixed doubles event, they reached the semi-final round at the 2017 Indonesia Open, defeated by the 2016 Rio mixed doubles gold medalist from Indonesia Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir in straight games. She won the mixed doubles title at the 2018 Malaysia International Challenge tournament partnered with Chen Tang Jie.
