Badminton competitions for the South Asian Games are being held since its inception at the 2004 South Asian Games, which was the 9th edition of South Asian Games. [1] [2]

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) is a governing body of sports in Asia, currently with 45 member National Olympic Committees. Talal Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah was elected as President of the OCA on 8 July 2023. However, on 30 July 2023, the International Olympic Committee asked Randhir Singh, who was the acting president at the time, to continue as the Acting President of the OCA while the IOC investigated the OCA presidential election of 2023. On 13 October 2023, the IOC ethics committee asked the OCA to annul its 2023 elections due to Talal’s candidacy not fulfilling the eligibility conditions defined by the OCA Constitution and election interference by his brother Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah.

The South Korea women's national handball team is the national team of South Korea. Since 1984 the Korean team has not only participated constantly in Olympic Games but also ranked among the top four nations every time until 2012. Korea grabbed the gold medal in 1988 and 1992, won the silver medal in 1984, 1996, 2004 and took bronze medal in 2008. They have earned two World Championship medals so far: In 1995, they also won the World Championship title in Austria/Hungary 1995 World Women's Handball Championship, they came off third to secure the bronze medal at the Croatia in 2003 World Women's Handball Championship. <span class="mw-page-title-main">2019 South Asian Games</span> XIII South Asian Games

The 2019 South Asian Games, officially the XIII South Asian Games, was a major multi-sport event which was originally slated to be held from 9 to 18 March 2019 in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal. However, the dates were postponed and the event was held from 1–10 December 2019, coincidentally at the same time as the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. The new dates were confirmed at the South Asian Olympic Council Executive Board meeting in Bangkok on 1 March 2019. The Dasarath Stadium hosted the opening ceremony along with the men's football tournament, with the stadium's renovation after the 2015 earthquake completed in under 10 months with an increased capacity of 20,000, along with the closing ceremony on 10 December.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2025 South Asian Games</span> XIV South Asian Games 2024

The 2025 South Asian Games, officially the XIV South Asian Games, will be a major multi-sport event held in Pakistan. Lahore will be the main host city of the Games. Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Islamabad and Sialkot will support Lahore in hosting some of the sports. The Games were scheduled to be held in March 2023, But the Games in Schedule on Feb. 2025 by the South Asian Olympic Council members at the Olympic Council of Asia conference in Cambodia.

Esports at the 2022 Asian Games were held at the China Hangzhou Esports Center in Hangzhou, China from 24 September to 2 October 2023.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Bangladesh national badminton team</span> National badminton team

The Bangladesh national badminton team represents Bangladesh in international badminton team competitions and is controlled by the Bangladesh Badminton Federation, the governing body for badminton in Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi junior mixed team competed in the 2011 Asian Junior Badminton Championships.
