The Waikato International is an open international badminton tournament in New Zealand. This tournament is held in Waikato. This tournament is classified as BWF International Series tournament since Badminton World Federation (BWF) introduced in 1998, but it was downgraded to Future Series in 2015. [1] Then, the event was promoted to a higher level of BWF International Series since 2017. [2] Another tournament with higher level and prize money named New Zealand Open.

Zhou Mi is a Chinese badminton player. During much of her career she represented the People's Republic of China, but since 2007 she has represented Hong Kong which has a sports program and teams independent from those of the mainland. In 2010, she received a 2-year ban, for failing a drugs test.
Rachel Louise Hindley is a New Zealand badminton player. She won the women's singles gold at the Oceania Championships in 2006 and also women's doubles gold in 2008. She competed at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in the women's singles, doubles, and team event; and reaching the quarter-finals in the singles event.
John David Moody is a New Zealand badminton player. In 2002 and 2004 he won the Fiji International, in 2005 the Ballarat Eureka International and the Waikato International, and in 2006 the North Harbour International and the Waikato International.

Koharu Yonemoto is a retired Japanese badminton player who affiliate with Hokuto Bank. She was the women's doubles bronze medalist at the 2018 World Championships, and the silver medalist at the 2013 East Asian Games. She won the year-end tournament Superseries Finals in 2017. Yonemoto was part of Japanese winning team at the 2017 Asia Mixed Team Championships, 2018 Uber Cup, 2018 Asian Games, and at the 2018 Asia Women's Team Championships.
Alfian Eko Prasetya is an Indonesian badminton player specializes in doubles, affiliated with Jaya Raya Jakarta badminton club. He was the mixed doubles gold medalist at the 2011 BWF World Junior Championships partnered with Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja. He won his first Grand Prix title at the 2014 New Zealand Open with Annisa Saufika.
The Carebaco International is an international badminton tournament of the "Caribbean Regional Badminton Confederation" (Carebaco). Until 1999 the tournament was a closed event eligible only for Carebaco members, but to gain BWF World Ranking points since 1999 the Carebaco International tournament became a level 4 open individual event, now part of the BWF Future Series.
The Singapore International or Singapore Satellite, Cheers Asian Satellite is an open international badminton tournament in Singapore. In the last few years, this tournament has been an International Series level. There is another tournament with higher level and prize money, which is the Singapore Open.
Joy Wai-lok Lai is an Australian badminton player. She competed at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China. Lai was the champion at the Waikato International tournament in the women's singles event.
Tiffany Celine Ho is an Australian badminton player. She was the champion at the 2016 Oceania Championships in the women's doubles event partnered with Jennifer Tam, and at the same year, she claimed her first international title at the Waikato International tournament in the women's doubles event. Ho was part of Australia team that won the women's team title at the 2020 Oceania Championships.
Jennifer Hoi-kw Tam is an Australian badminton player. She won the women's doubles title at the 2016 Oceania Championships partnered with Tiffany Ho. Tam also won the BWF event of Waikato International tournament in the women's doubles event.
Kevin James Dennerly-Minturn is a New Zealand badminton player. In 2014, he competed at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Susannah Leydon-Davis is a New Zealand badminton player. In 2014, she competed at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Anona Pak is a New Zealand badminton player. She was the women's doubles runner-up at the Waikato International tournament partnered with Vicki Copeland. She also received 2016 Massey University Manawatu sportswoman of the year at the Massey Blues Sports Awards, because of her success won the national championships in woman's doubles and mixed doubles. She was three times women's doubles bronze medalists at the Oceania Championships.
Vicki Copeland is a New Zealand female badminton player. She was the women's doubles runner-up at the Waikato International tournament partnered with Anona Pak. In 2017, she and Pak won bronze at the Oceania Championships in the women's doubles event.
Luke Charlesworth is a New Zealand male badminton player. In 2014, he became the champion at the New Zealand National Badminton Championships. He also won the 2013 New Caledonia International tournament in the men's doubles event and the runner-up in the singles event. At the Oceania Championships, he won the men's singles bronze in 2012 and silver in 2015.
Yukiko Takahata is a Japanese badminton player from the Yonex team. In 2017, she became the women's doubles runner-up at the Osaka International tournament partnered with Ayako Sakuramoto. She won her first senior international title at the Spanish International tournament with Sakuramoto.
Lin Yu-lang is a Taiwanese badminton player. In 2008, he won the BWF Grand Prix title at the New Zealand Open in the men's doubles event with Chen Hung-ling. In 2009, he and Chen also won the Chinese Taipei Open, Polish International, and Finnish International. Lin was the men's doubles silver medallists at the 2009 East Asian Games and 2010 Asian Championships.
