Badminton is a SEA Games event and has been one of the sports held at the Games since the inaugural edition of the South East Asian Peninsular Games (SEAP Games) in 1959.

Ronald Susilo is a Singaporean former badminton player. Susilo was ranked sixth, his highest ranking, in 2004.
Sony Dwi Kuncoro is a former badminton singles player from Indonesia. He was the 2004 Olympic bronze medalist, two-time World Championships medalist and three-time Asian Champion. He reached a career high as world number 3 on 7 October 2004.
Jiang Yanmei is a Chinese-born Singaporean badminton player. She competed at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics; 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games; and also 2006 Asian Games.
Indonesia first participated in the Olympic Games in 1952 and has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Olympic Games since then, except for 1964, due to controversy around the Games of the New Emerging Forces, and 1980, when they participated in the U.S.-led boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics. Sapsiree Taerattanachai is a Thai badminton player. She claimed titles in the mixed doubles with Dechapol Puavaranukroh at the 2017 SEA Games and at the 2021 World Championships. Taerattanachai and Puavaranukroh made history as the first ever Thai pair to win the year-end Finals tournaments, the World Championships title and rank first in the world ranking.
The Philippines national badminton team represents the Philippines in international badminton competitions. It is controlled by the Philippine Badminton Association. Nicknamed Smash Pilipinas, The Filipino team won bronze in the men's and women's team events at the Southeast Asian Games, in 1987 and 1981 respectively.
Fajar Alfian is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with the SGS PLN Bandung. He won the men's doubles silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games, the bronze medals at the 2017 SEA Games, 2019 and 2022 World Championships. He was part of the Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup. He reached a career high of world number 1 in the men's doubles with Muhammad Rian Ardianto on 27 December 2022.
Badminton at the 2015 SEA Games is held in Singapore Indoor Stadium, in Kallang, Singapore from 10 to 16 June 2015. Seven competitions were held in men and women's singles and in men, women and mixed's doubles and in men and women's team.
Yeo Jia Min is a Singaporean badminton player. She is a former World Junior No.1 and the first Singaporean in either the junior or senior categories to made it to the top of the BWF's ranking system.
Aaron Chia Teng Fong is a Malaysian badminton player. He and his partner Soh Wooi Yik became the first ever world badminton champions from Malaysia after winning the men's doubles title at the 2022 World Championships. Together, they also won a gold medal at the 2019 SEA Games, a silver medal at the 2022 Asian Championships, as well as bronze medals at the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2022 Commonwealth Games, 2023 World Championships, and 2022 Asian Games.
Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo is an Indonesian professional badminton player. He was a World junior silver medalist in 2016 and Asian Championships bronze medalist in 2022. Dwi Wardoyo also part of Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup.
Kunlavut Vitidsarn is a Thai badminton player. He is the current men's singles World Champion as he won the gold medal at the 2023 World Championships. He was also three-times World Junior champion, winning in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Marleve Mario Mainaky is a former Indonesian badminton player who play in the singles event. He was part of the Indonesia men's team that won the Thomas Cup in 1998, 2000, and 2002. Mainaky had collected a silver and three bronzes at the Asian Championships. He competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, reaching into the quarterfinals. He was the men's singles bronze medalist at the 2001 SEA Games, also helped the men's team won the silver medal at that event, and 2002 Asian Games. After retired from the international tournament, he started his career as a badminton coach. Marleve Mainaky was the fifth of seven siblings of Jantje Rudolf Mainaky and Venna Hauvelman. Five of the siblings were also professional badminton player.
Soh Wooi Yik is a Malaysian badminton player. He and his partner Aaron Chia became the first ever world badminton champions from Malaysia after winning the men's doubles title at the 2022 World Championships. Together, they also won a gold medal at the 2019 SEA Games, a silver medal at the 2022 Asian Championships, as well as bronze medals at the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2022 Commonwealth Games, 2023 World Championships and 2022 Asian Games.
The Vietnam national badminton team represents Vietnam in international badminton team competitions. The national team is controlled by the Vietnam Badminton Federation, the governing body for badminton in Vietnam. The Vietnamese team competes in the biennial Southeast Asian Games and have made several achievements in badminton at the games.
The Myanmar national badminton team represents Myanmar in international badminton team competitions. The best result for both men and women's team was a third place finish at the 1979 and 1995 Southeast Asian Games. The men's team was selected to take part in the 1976 Thomas Cup but failed to qualify into the first round.
Lim Chong King is a Malaysian badminton player. He won his first senior title in 2019 at the Hellas Open.
The Cambodia national badminton team represents Cambodia in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by the Cambodia Badminton Federation. Cambodia have never competed in any BWF organized team tournaments.
