The French Guiana International is an open international badminton tournament in French Guiana, an overseas department and region of France. It was the highest international championships in French Guiana. The event is part of the Badminton World Federation's Future Series and part of the Badminton Pan America's circuit. The inaugural edition was held in 2023. [1]

The Badminton Pan Am (BPA) organisation is the governing body for the sport of badminton in the Americas and is recognized as such by the Badminton World Federation - BWF. It was founded as a continental governing body on February 13, 1976 in the headquarters of the Mexican Olympic Committee in Mexico City. The Pan American Badminton Confederation was founded by Badminton Canada, the Jamaica Badminton Association, Federacion Mexicana de Badminton, Comision Nacional de Badminton Peru and the United States Badminton Association. BPAC was founded in Mexico City in 1976 and had nominated Victor Jaramillo of Mexico as President until an official election was scheduled to take place at the first Pan Am Championships the following year. The first Badminton Pan Am Championships was held in Moncton, New Brunswick-Canada, in April 1977.

Badminton has been part of the Pan American Games since the 1995 Games in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Canada has dominated the badminton events since its inception. At the most recent edition of the games in 2019, in Lima, five nations won medals, with Canada taking home four of the five titles.
The Irish International or Irish Open in badminton is an international open held in Ireland since 1902 and is thereby one of the oldest badminton tournaments in the world. It was however interrupted by the two World Wars. This tournament is currently a part of the European Badminton Circuit and takes place at the end of November every year as part of the home nations loop of international tournaments that include the Scottish Open and the Welsh Open in consecutive weeks. The tournament for most part and in recent years has been an International Challenge rated event. The recent exception was in 2012, 2017 & 2018 when the tournament was downgraded to International Series due to funding. Recent editions have been held in the Baldoyle Badminton Centre except for 2007 and 2011 tournaments which were held in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

The Orléans Masters championships is an open badminton tournament held in France. This tournament is organized by the Cercle Laïque des Tourelles Orléans (CLTO) Badminton and held in the Palais des Sports in Orléans.
Luis Armando Montoya Navarro is a Mexican badminton player. Partnering Job Castillo, he managed to win the gold medal at the 2022 Pan Am Championships, and the bronze medal at the 2023 Pan American Games. He was part of the Mexican team that won the gold medals at the 2018 and 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games.
