Vietnamese National Badminton Championships

The Vietnamese National Badminton Championships is a tournament organized by the Vietnam Badminton Federation to crown the best badminton players in Vietnam.

"Tiến Quân Ca", known in English as the "Marching Song", "Song of a Marching Army" or "Song of Advancing Soldiers", is the national anthem of Vietnam, written and composed by Văn Cao in 1944. The "Army Marching Song" was adopted as the national anthem of North Vietnam in 1954 and was adopted as the national anthem of the new unified Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 1976, following the reunification of North Vietnam and South Vietnam at the end of the Vietnam War. Nguyễn Khoa Tóc Tiên, known simply as Tóc Tiên, is a Vietnamese singer. Beginning her career as a child, Tiên later became a teen idol, participating in several singing competitions and releasing two studio albums: Nụ cười nắng mai (2007) and Tóc Tiên thiếu nữ (2008). Her third solo album, My Turn (2009), projects a new, sexually-charged image which she adopted while living in the United States and performing frequently on Thúy Nga Productions' variety show, Paris by Night. Tiên appeared in the first season of the television series, The Remix, in 2015. The show gave her an opportunity to perform "Ngày mai ", the song which brought her success and later became one of her signature hits. Subsequent singles, notably "Em không là duy nhất" and "#Catena ", were moderately successful.

The Hồ Chí Minh Prize is an honorary award given by the government of Vietnam in recognition of cultural and/or scientific achievement. The prize was established by decree in 1981, and has been awarded in 1996, 2000, 2005 and 2012, often posthumously. The prize is named for Ho Chi Minh, who was Chairman and founder of the Workers' Party of Vietnam, that is considered one of the highest honors bestowed by Vietnam.

In 2014, she joined the Miss Aodai Vietnam pageant and won title. Then, she represented Vietnam in Miss World 2015 and was placed top 11. The Vietnamese Chess Championship has been held annually since 1980 by the Vietnam Chess Federation, which joined FIDE in 1988. The federation has also organized an annual Vietnamese Women's Chess Championship since 1983.

Trần Thanh Hải is a Vietnamese former badminton player from Ho Chi Minh City team. He won the men's doubles title at the 2006 National Championships partnered with Nguyễn Tiến Minh. He competed in four consecutive Southeast Asian Games, from 2001–2007, and was part of the national team that won the bronze medal in 2005. Trần also represented his country at the 2006 Asian Games and World Championships.

The abdication of Emperor Bảo Đại took place on 25 August 1945 and marked the end of the 143-year reign of the Nguyễn dynasty over Vietnam ending the Vietnamese monarchy. Bảo Đại abdicated in response to the August Revolution. A ceremony was held handing power over to the newly established Democratic Republic of Vietnam, which was established during the end of World War II in Asia as Vietnam had been occupied by French and later Japanese imperialists.

The Tale of Từ Thức Marrying a Goddess or Từ Thức Meeting Gods is a Vietnamese legend told in Truyền kỳ mạn lục by Nguyễn Dữ in the 16th century and based on the Folktale of Từ Thức Cave. It follows the life of Từ Thức in the Trần dynasty who meets and marries a goddess in the godly realm before leaving his wife to revisit his hometown, unaware that countless ages have passed in the mortal world since then.

Nguyễn Quốc Việt is a Vietnamese professional footballer who plays as a striker for V.League 1 club Hoàng Anh Gia Lai and the Vietnam national under-23 team.
