The Welsh International is an international badminton championship held in Wales since 1928 and is thereby one of the oldest badminton tournaments in the world. The tournament was halted during World War II and until 1956, between 1960 and 1966, and in 1971. It is organised by Welsh Badminton Cymru, the governing body for badminton in Wales. [1]

The Wales men's national football team represents Wales in international football. It is controlled by the Football Association of Wales (FAW), the governing body for football in Wales. They have been a member of FIFA since 1946 and a member of UEFA since 1954.
The Welsh Open is a professional ranking snooker tournament that has been held annually since 1992. It replaced the Welsh Professional Championship, which ran annually from 1980 to 1991 and was open only to Welsh players. The Welsh Open is now the longest running ranking event after the World Championship and the UK Championship. Since the 2016–17 season, it has been one of four tournaments in the Home Nations Series, alongside the Northern Ireland Open, the Scottish Open, and the English Open. Since 2017, the winner of the event has received the Ray Reardon Trophy, named after the Welsh six-time world champion. Reardon himself presented the newly named trophy to 2017 winner Stuart Bingham.

Martyn James Lewis is a Welsh badminton player specialist in doubles. He represented Wales at the 2002, 2006, and 2010 Commonwealth Games. In the national event, he plays for the Caerphilly, and has won eleven times the National Championships title from 2003-2016.
The Irish International or Irish Open in badminton is an international open held in Ireland since 1902 and is thereby one of the oldest badminton tournaments in the world. It was however interrupted by the two World Wars. This tournament is currently a part of the European Badminton Circuit and takes place at the end of November every year as part of the home nations loop of international tournaments that include the Scottish Open and the Welsh Open in consecutive weeks. The tournament for most part and in recent years has been an International Challenge rated event. The recent exception was in 2012, 2017 & 2018 when the tournament was downgraded to International Series due to funding. Recent editions have been held in the Baldoyle Badminton Centre except for 2007 and 2011 tournaments which were held in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

The winners of this tournament are also crowned as "World Champions" of the sport, and are awarded a gold medal.

The Giraldilla International is the name of an international badminton tournament, which is organized as an open championship of Cuba. The competition is held annually since 2000 and is now a young supraregional Badminton Championship. The organizer was the Cuban Badminton Association in cooperation with the Badminton Pan Am continental federation.
The Guatemala International is an open badminton tournament held in Guatemala. The tournament has been an International Series level in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2012, 2013, 2016, then in 2009 categorized as Future Series level, and in 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015 categorized as International Challenge by the Badminton World Federation. The tournament is sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation, so the players can improved their point in world ranking.

The tournament has been an International Challenge level since 2009. Another tournament named Peru International Series for the second grade tournament in Peru which was established in 2015.

The Wales national badminton team represents Wales in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by Badminton Wales, the national organization for badminton in the country. Wales have never participated in the Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup. The team's last appearance in the international stage was at the 2007 Sudirman Cup.
Jordan Hart is a Welsh badminton player. She was a Poland national badminton team member between 2021 and 26 September 2022. She made her international debut in 2009 Welsh International. She has won seven Welsh National Championships title, 5 times in the women's singles event from 2016 to 2020, once in the mixed and women's doubles in 2012 and 2020 respectively. 2019 was the golden year for Hart, where she achieved title wins in many international tournaments, some of them were in Jamaica, Giraldilla, Carebaco, Latvia and Polish International tournaments.
Tee Kai Wun is a Malaysian badminton player. He helped Malaysia win a silver medal in the 2017 BWF World Junior Championships mixed team event.
