Finnish National Badminton Championships

The Finnish National Badminton Championships is a tournament organized to crown the best badminton players in Finland.

The tournament started in 1955.

Anu Kristiina Nieminen is a Finnish badminton player. Born in Helsinki, Nieminen has joined the national team in 1994. She is one of the best badminton players in Finland, having won twelve times National Championships, and competed at the Summer Olympics in four consecutive times.

Ville Lång is a badminton player from Finland. He won ten consecutive Finland's National Championship men's singles titles in 2005–2014, and 3 men's doubles title in 2010, 2011, and 2017. He announced his retirement on 31 January 2016, and received a meritorious service award from BWF. Nina Weckström is a Finnish badminton player from Helsingfors badminton klub. She won the National Championships in the women's doubles event seven times from 1999 to 2004 and 2006 partnered with Anu Weckström. In the international tournament, she won the women's singles title at the Southern Pan Am International in Miami, United States, and also the women's doubles event at the Norwegian International tournament with her sister Anu. After finishing her career in badminton, she received the scholarship by the URA Foundation. She educated Pedagogy in Copenhagen, and while she studying, she trained at the Holte Badmintonklub.

The Arctic Open, is an international open badminton tournament held in Finland since 1990. It was halted in 1994, 1995, and between 1997 and 2001. In 2013, it was held for the fourth time in the Energia Areena in Vantaa. In 2014, the second international tournament in Finland launched as Finnish International, then this tournament changed its title to Finnish Open. From 2023 onwards, this will be a BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament, titled Arctic Open.

Imay Hendra is a former Indonesian badminton player, and later represented Brunei after became Brunei national coach. He won a men's doubles bronze medal at the 1991 IBF World Championships in Copenhagen with Bagus Setiadi. They won the Finnish Open together in 1990, also finished as semi-finalists at the All England and Indonesia Open in 1991. He was part of Indonesia winning team at the 1993 Asian Championships.

Neslihan Arın is a Turkish badminton player. The 178 cm (5.84 ft) tall athlete plays right-handed and is coached by Çağatay Taşdemir at Egospor club of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. She won the women's singles title at the 2013 Islamic Solidarity Games, 2013, 2018 Mediterranean Games and the women's doubles title at the 2013 Mediterranean Games. Arın also won the bronze medals at the 2015 European Games and at the 2021 and 2022 European Championships.

The 2021 Sudirman Cup was the 17th edition of the Sudirman Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the mixed national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF), since its inception in 1989. The tournament was played in Vantaa, Finland, between 26 September and 3 October 2021. China were the defending champions. They successfully defended their title, lifting the trophy for a record-extending 12th time.
