The Malaysia Masters (Malay : Masters Malaysia) is an annual badminton tournament held in Malaysia that began in 2009. The total prize money is currently US$420,000. [1]

Contents

Until 2017, the tournament was part of the Grand Prix Gold series. BWF categorised Malaysia Masters as one of the seven BWF World Tour Super 500 events in the BWF events structure since 2018. [2]

Since then until 2019, it was held annually at the Siri Fort Sports Complex, New Delhi. Tai Tzu-ying is a Taiwanese badminton player. Tai was the women's singles silver medalist in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the 2021 BWF World Championships. She was gold medalist in the 2017 Summer Universiade and the 2018 Asian Games. She was the champion of BWF Super Series Finals/BWF World Tour Finals a record four times. She was thrice the champion of the All England Open, and of the Asian Championships.

The Korea Masters is an international badminton tournament that usually held in November or December every year of BWF event calendar in South Korea. The total prize money in 2016 was US$120,000. Before 2010, the level of the tournament was an International Challenge, which is the fourth level tournament of international badminton tournament. It began in 2007, when it was held in Suwon, then it moved to Yeosu in 2008 and Hwasun in 2009. In 2010, it was turned into a BWF Grand Prix event.

The Malaysia International is an open international badminton tournament in Malaysia established since 1997. This tournament also known as Malaysia Satellite, Malaysia Asian Satellite, and Malaysia International Challenge. This tournament has classified as BWF International Challenge tournament since Badminton World Federation (BWF) introduced in 2007. Other tournaments held in Malaysia with higher level and prize money are named Malaysia Masters and Malaysia Open.

Kie Nakanishi is a Japanese badminton player affiliated with the Biprogy team. She won the silver medal at the 2022 Asian Championships with her partner Rin Iwanaga. The duo reached a career-high ranking of world number 5 on 5 November 2024. Kie was part of the Japanese women's team that won the bronze medal at the 2024 Asia Team Championships.
