Malaysia Masters

The Malaysia Masters, began in 2009, is a badminton tournament at the Super 500 grade, formerly a Grand Prix Gold. The total prize money is now US$350,000, having previously been US$120,000.

BWF categorised Malaysia Masters as one of the seven BWF World Tour Super 500 events in the BWF events structure since 2018. [1]

Since then until 2019, it was held annually at the Siri Fort Sports Complex, New Delhi. BWF categorised India Open as one of the seven BWF World Tour Super 500 events as per new BWF events structure since 2018. The India Open was upgraded to a BWF World Tour Super 750 event, effective from 2023.

Lim Khim Wah is a Malaysian badminton player from Penang who plays in the doubles category. His men's doubles partner was Goh V Shem until late 2014. They two won their first Superseries title at the 2014 Malaysia Open. Together with Goh, Lim reached a career high as world number 11 in the men's doubles in May 2013. In 2015, Lim resigned from the Badminton Association of Malaysia. In 2022, Lim teamed up with Nur Mohd Azyriyn Ayub, they started their career in three back-to-back tournaments in India, with the India Open as the first tournament.

Lai Pei Jing is a Malaysian badminton player who played in the doubles events. She started her career in the women's singles event. She briefly partnered Chan Peng Soon in mid-2014 and in August that year, they reached a world ranking of No. 48. However, she resumed her partnership with Tan Aik Quan later that month. Since 2016, she has been partnered with Tan Kian Meng.

Huang Yaqiong is a Chinese badminton player who specializes in doubles. She won the prestigious All England Open in 2017 partnered with Lu Kai, and in 2019 with Zheng Siwei. Together with Lu, she emerged as the champion at the 2017 Asian Championships. With her current partner Zheng, she won the gold medal at the 2018 and 2022 Asian Games, and claimed the BWF World Championships titles in 2018, 2019, and 2022. Huang was made the Female Player of the Year by the BWF in 2018 and 2019.

Tan Kian Meng is a Malaysian badminton player who specializes in the doubles events. He is currently playing with Lai Pei Jing in mixed doubles. Originally a singles player, he switched to play in the doubles events since August 2014 due to slow career progress.

Goh Sze Fei is a Malaysian badminton player. He won the 2022 German Open in the men's doubles event partnered with Nur Izzuddin, their first BWF World Tour title.

Teo Ee Yi is a Malaysian badminton player. He won a silver medal with Ong Yew Sin at the 2023 Badminton Asia Championships and a bronze medal with Ong at the 2021 BWF World Championships. The 2018 Malaysia Masters, officially the Perodua Malaysia Masters 2018, was a badminton tournament which took place at Axiata Arena in Malaysia from 16 to 21 January 2018 and had a total purse of $350,000.

Yoyo Ng Tsz Yau is a Hong Kong badminton player. She started playing badminton at aged 5, and in 2013, she competed in the women's doubles event with Yeung Nga Ting. In 2017, she reached the mixed doubles semi final round at the Malaysia Masters, and in November 2017, she and Yeung won the senior tournament at the Tata Open India International tournament.

Zheng Yu is a Chinese badminton player from the Jiangsu province team. She started playing badminton in 2003, claimed the Jiangsu province title in the singles and doubles category in 2006 and 2007, then was selected to join the national team for the first time in 2010. She was part of the national junior team that won the mixed team gold medals at the 2011 Asian and 2012 World Junior Championships. She won her first senior international title at the BWF Super 500 tournament 2020 Malaysia Masters partnered with Li Wenmei.

Li Wenmei is a Chinese badminton player from Maoping, Hubei. She began to play badminton at the age of seven and entered the Hubei team training centre in June 2010 as the singles player. She was selected to join the second team of Hubei province, who was trained by the former World Champion, Wei Yili, in April 2013. She represented Hubei province competed at the 2017 National Games of China in Tianjin, helps the team as the first singles and second doubles player achieved their best record for 42 years history by winning the silver medal at the Games. Li was part of the national junior team that won the gold medal at the 2017 World Junior Championships, and also claimed the bronze medals in the girls' and mixed doubles event. She won her first senior international title at the BWF Super 500 tournament 2020 Malaysia Masters partnered with Zheng Yu.

Zhang Shuxian is a Chinese badminton player.

Muhammad Haikal Nazri is a Malaysian badminton player. He won three titles in 2021: Austrian Open, Hellas International and Ukraine International tournaments in the men's doubles event partnered with Junaidi Arif.
