Malaysian National Badminton Championships

The Malaysian National Badminton Championships is a tournament organized by the Badminton Association of Malaysia to crown the best badminton players in Malaysia. The tournament started in the 1980s and is held annually.

Lee Chong Wei is a Malaysian former professional badminton player. As a singles player, Lee was ranked first worldwide for 349 weeks, including a 199-week streak from 21 August 2008 to 14 June 2012. He is the fifth Malaysian player after Foo Kok Keong, Rashid Sidek, Roslin Hashim and Wong Choong Hann to achieve such a ranking, and is the only Malaysian shuttler who has held the number one ranking for more than a year. On 2 May 2023, Lee was inducted to BWF Badminton Hall of Fame. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest badminton players of all time.

Chan Chong Ming is a Malaysian former badminton player and a current head coach of Malaysian national women's doubles squad. He is two-time Commonwealth Games gold medalists in the men's doubles, winning the title in 2002 and 2006. Chan also won the men's doubles bronze medals at the World Championships in 2001 and 2005; in the Asian Games in 2002; Asian Championships in 2004; and at the SEA Games in 2001 and 2005. He also helps the national team win the mixed team title at the Commonwealth Games in 2006, and the men's team title at the SEA Games in 2001 and 2005. Chan reached a career high as world number 1 in the men's doubles in April 2002.

Simon Santoso is an Indonesian former badminton player. Santoso won the Indonesia Open a Superseries Premier tournament in 2012. He reached a career high as world number 3 in August 2010.

Misbun Sidek is a former Malaysian badminton player. He is the eldest of the famous five Sidek brothers.

The 2009 Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold was the inaugural edition of the Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold and fourth grand prix's badminton tournament of the 2009 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix. This is a list of the main career statistics of Malaysian professional badminton player, Lee Chong Wei. To date, Lee has won a total of sixty-nine BWF singles titles including a record 42 BWF Super Series singles titles, and a record 4 BWF Super Series Finals. He is the first men's singles player to have won every BWF Super Series Premier title. Lee is also a triple Silver Medalist in men's singles, having reached the finals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2012 London Olympics and 2016 Rio Olympics. He is also a quadruple Silver Medalist at the BWF World Championships. However, he was stripped of his achievement as the runner-up at the 2014 BWF World Championships due to doping violations. Following that matter, he served an 8-month suspension from international competitions.

Misbun Ramdan bin Mohmed Misbun is a Malaysian professional badminton player. He is the son of former Malaysian international badminton player Misbun Sidek.

The 2009 China Masters Super Series was a top level badminton competition which was held from September 15, 2009 to September 20, 2009 in Changzhou, China. It was the seventh BWF Super Series competition on the 2009 BWF Super Series schedule. The total purse for the event was $250,000.

Chen Tang Jie is a Malaysian badminton player. He was part of the Malaysian 2016 Asian Junior Championships and 2016 BWF World Junior Championships team, and has help Malaysia to clinched a silver medal in the World Junior mixed team before defeated by China.

James Chua is a Malaysian former badminton player. Born in Sarawak, Chua moved to Kuala Lumpur to join the BAM squad in 1995. He was part of the Malaysia junior team that won the boys' team bronze at the 1997 Asian Junior Championships in Manila. He was the champion at the 1998 Malaysia Satellite, and in 2001 clinched the National Championships title. Chua won the World Grand Prix title at the 2002 Malaysia Open defeated his compatriot the defending champion, Ong Ewe Hock in straight games. Together with the national men's team, they won the bronze medals at the 1998 and 2002 Asian Games.
