The Polish Open in badminton is an international open held in Poland since 1975. In the years before the fall of communism in the country this was one of a few meeting places between badminton players from the Eastern Bloc countries. The tournament belongs to the European Badminton Circuit. It is not to be confused with the Polish International.

The Finnish Open, is an international open badminton tournament held in Finland since 1990. It was halted in 1994, 1995, and between 1997 and 2001. In 2013, it was held for the fourth time in the Energia Areena in Vantaa. In 2014, the second international tournament in Finland launched as Finnish International, then this tournament changed its title to Finnish Open. From 2023 onwards, this will be a BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament, titled Arctic Open.

It is also an intervention programme of the Lagos State Government, it is a series of international open sporting events geared towards attracting the best continental and global sports talents to the shores of the region. The Lagos State Government believes that the tournament is part of series of international sports events that will bring world stars to the state.
