The Badminton Pan Am (BPA) organisation is the governing body for the sport of badminton in the Americas and is recognized as such by the Badminton World Federation - BWF. It was founded as a continental governing body on February 13, 1976 in the headquarters of the Mexican Olympic Committee in Mexico City. The Pan American Badminton Confederation was founded by Badminton Canada, the Jamaica Badminton Association, Federacion Mexicana de Badminton, Comision Nacional de Badminton Peru and the United States Badminton Association. BPAC was founded in Mexico City in 1976 and had nominated Victor Jaramillo of Mexico as President until an official election was scheduled to take place at the first Pan Am Championships the following year. The first Badminton Pan Am Championships was held in Moncton, New Brunswick-Canada, in April 1977.
Badminton Confederation Africa (BCA) is the governing body of badminton in Africa. It is one of the 5 continental bodies under the flag of the Badminton World Federation. It now has 46 member countries and 2 associate members. It was formerly called the Badminton Confederation of Africa.
The BWF World Junior Championships, also known as the World Junior Badminton Championships, is a tournament organized by the Badminton World Federation to crown the best junior badminton players (U-19) in the world. The championship is held annually and consists of two separate competitions: a mixed team championship followed by an individual championship.
The African Badminton Championships is a tournament organized by the Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA) to crown the best badminton players in Africa. For the team event there is the African Badminton Cup of Nations. This is not to be confused with the All African Games, the multi sports event, held every four years where badminton is included since 2003.
The Badminton Asia Junior Championships is a tournament organized by the Badminton Asia governing body to crown the best junior badminton players (under-19) in Asia.
The World Badminton Federation is a former badminton organization, it was founded in February 1978 and ceased its operation on May 26, 1981, after it merged with the International Badminton Federation.

Nigeria was one of the seven African countries that formed the Badminton Confederation of Africa on 31 August 1977. The country first competed in the African Badminton Championships in 1980.
The BWF World Championships, aka the World Badminton Championships, is a badminton tournament organized by the Badminton World Federation. It's the most prestigious badminton competition, offering the most ranking points, along with the Summer Olympics badminton events introduced in 1992. The winners of the tournament are World Champions of the sport and are awarded a gold medal.
The 2017 African Badminton Championships or All Africa Championships were held in Benoni, South Africa between 16–23 April, organised by the Badminton Confederation of Africa. At the team event, Egypt won the gold medal after beat South Africa with the score 3-1. Nigeria and Zambia settle for the bronze medal after reach the semi-final round.
The Algeria national badminton team represents Algeria in international badminton team competitions. The team made their first-ever appearance at the Thomas Cup in 2018. The Algerian team have never qualified for the Uber Cup and the Sudirman Cup.
The Zambia national badminton team represents Zambia in international badminton team competitions. The team is controlled by the Zambia Badminton Association.

The Cameroon national badminton team represents Cameroon in international team competitions. It is controlled by the Cameroon Badminton Federation, the governing body for Cameroonian badminton.
The Benin national badminton team represents Benin in international team competitions. The team is controlled by the Badminton Federation of Benin. The Beninese mixed team competed in the 2019 African Badminton Championships.
The Ivory Coast national badminton team represents the Ivory Coast in international team competitions. It is controlled by the Ivorian Badminton Federation, the governing body for badminton in the Ivory Coast. The team are nicknamed the Elephants.
The Tunisia national badminton team represents Tunisia in international team competitions. The Tunisian national team is managed by the Tunisian Badminton Federation. The men's team debuted in the African Badminton Championships in 2018.
The Réunion national badminton team represents Réunion, an overseas department and region of France, in international team competitions. The team is controlled by Ligue Nouvelle du Badminton Réunionnais, the governing body of badminton in the region.
The Ethiopia national badminton team represents Ethiopia in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by the Ethiopian Badminton Federation, the governing body for badminton in Ethiopia. The team was formed in the late 1990s following the establishment of the Ethiopian Badminton Federation.
The 1980 African Badminton Championships was a continental stage tournament to crown the best badminton squads and players in Africa. The tournament took place from 22 to 25 June 1980. The tournament was held at the Beira Sports Pavilion which stands next to the Mozambique Company Employees Club in Beira, Mozambique.
The 1988 African Badminton Championships was a continental stage tournament to crown the best badminton squads and players in Africa. The tournament took place from 7 to 13 August 1988 at the National Stadium in Lagos, Nigeria.
