USSR National Badminton Championships

USSR National Badminton Championships was a tournament conducted between 1963 and 1991. After the end of the Soviet Union, the majority of the former Soviet Republics started own championships like the Azerbaijani National Badminton Championships, Armenian National Badminton Championships, Georgian National Badminton Championships, Moldovan National Badminton Championships and Latvian National Badminton Championships.

Zilberman is the first Israeli player to win a medal at the European Badminton Championships.

Phillip Hung Chew is an American badminton player. He won two gold medals in men's and mixed doubles at the 2015 Pan American Games. Chew also participated in the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. He won the 2021 Pan Am Badminton Championships doubles with his brother Ryan Chew. He trains at the Orange County Badminton Club, which is founded by his grandfather, Don Chew.

Andrey Mikhaylovich Antropov is a badminton player from Russia who represented the Soviet Union and Russian Federation at the European Badminton Championships and the Unified Team and Russia at the 1992 and 1996 Olympics, respectively.

Victoria Viktorovna Evtoushenko is a Ukrainian badminton player. Evtoushenko had won seventeen times Ukrainian National Championships from 1992 to 2000. She also won five titles at the Soviet National Championships before Ukraine declare the Independence. She competed at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics. Evtoushenko played in the women's and mixed doubles event at the Olympic Games, finished in 17 position in the women's doubles event in 1996 and 2000 partnered with Elena Nozdran, and in the mixed doubles event, she finished 33 in 1996 and 17 in 2000 partnered with Vladislav Druzchenko.

The 1991 European Junior Badminton Championships was the 12th tournament of the European Junior Badminton Championships. It was held in Budapest, Hungary, from 31 March to 6th of April. Danish players won four titles girls' singles, and all the three doubles disciplines while Austria won Boys' singles and Soviet Union won the mixed team championships.

The Kyrgyzstan national badminton team represents Kyrgyzstan in international badminton team competitions. The Kyrgyz national team is controlled by the Kyrgyzstan Badminton and Squash Federation located in Bishkek. The team used to compete under the Soviet Union in European tournaments before the USSR was dissolved.
