Scottish National Badminton Championships

The Scottish National Badminton Championships is a tournament organised to crown the best badminton players in Scotland. The tournament started in 1908 playing only mixed doubles and men's doubles.

After starting playing the sport at the age of 9, Bankier won the national championships at every age level from Under 17 upwards. The highlight of her professional career was reaching the final of the mixed doubles at the 2011 World Championships in Wembley, London. She and her partner Chris Adcock were defeated in the match by the Chinese team of Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei.

Christopher Thomas Adcock is a retired English badminton player. Adcock is currently sponsored by Yonex and YC Sports and plays for the University of Nottingham-based NBL team. He entered the National team in 2006, and later won the boys' doubles and mixed team titles at the 2007 European Junior Championships. He was a World Championships medalists winning a silver in 2011 with Imogen Bankier and a bronze in 2017 with Gabby Adcock. Together with Gabby, he also won a silver medal at the 2007 World Junior Championships, and then claimed the gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and 2018; and at the European Championships in 2017 and 2018.

Lim Yin Loo is a Malaysian professional badminton player. She was part of the national team that won the gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. Lim won her first BWF Grand Prix title at the 2016 Scottish Open in the women's doubles event partnered with Yap Cheng Wen.

Gabriela Stoeva is a Bulgarian badminton player specializing in doubles. Her current partner is her younger sister, Stefani Stoeva. The pair is the three-time European Champion and two-time European Games gold medalist as well. They competed at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics.

She ended the 2016 BWF Season by winning the BWF Most Promising Player of the Year, also completed her success by winning titles at the 2016 BWF Superseries Finals in the women's and mixed doubles categories respectively. In 2017, she was awarded as the BWF Best Female Player of the Year, after came to Dubai World Superseries Finals as the first seeded both in women's and mixed doubles, and also won the women's doubles gold and mixed doubles silver medals at the 2017 BWF World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. In women's doubles, she also won gold medals at the 2021, 2022 and 2023 World Championships, 2018 and 2022 Asian Games, and at the 2019 Asian Championships.

Kim Astrup Sørensen is a Danish badminton player. He was the men's doubles gold medalists at the 2018 European Championships and the 2023 European Games with his partner Anders Skaarup Rasmussen. He also won the bronze medal at the World Championships in 2021 and later a silver medal in 2023. Astrup joined the Denmark winning team at the 2016 Thomas Cup in Kunshan, China, where he and his teammates beating Indonesia 3–2 in the final. Together with Rasmussen, he reached a career high of World number 5 on September 2018.

Adam Alistair Murdoch Mcg Hall is a Scottish badminton player. He was the bronze medalist at the 2015 European Junior Championships in the boys' doubles event with his partner Alexander Dunn. He competed at the 2018 and 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Alexander Dunn is a Scottish badminton player. Born in Bellshill, Dunn started playing badminton at aged seven, and joined the national team in 2009. He won a bronze medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships in the boys' doubles event with his partner Adam Hall, also the silver medal in the mixed doubles event with Eleanor O'Donnell in 2017. He competed at the 2018 and 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Emma Wengberg is a Swedish badminton player affiliated with Västra Frölunda BK. In 2009, she won the Turkey International tournament in the women's doubles event partnered with Emelie Lennartsson. In 2011, she and Lennartsson also won the Scottish International tournament. In 2014, she won the Norwegian International tournament in the women's doubles event with Tilde Iversen of Denmark. In 2015, she won the Portugal and Finnish International tournaments in the mixed doubles event partnered with Filip Michael Duwall Myhren, and also won the women's doubles title at the Finland partnered with Clara Nistad. In March 2015, she and Nistad won the Polish International tournament after beat the English pair Chloe Birch and Jessica Pugh. In 2017, she won the women's doubles title at the Swedish International Series tournament with Nistad.

Susannah Leydon-Davis is a New Zealand badminton player. In 2014, she competed at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

David Lindley is an English badminton player and coach. The right-handler, Lindley started playing badminton at aged six, and in the junior event, he becoming boys' doubles U-19 national champion in 1997 and 1998. Lindley junior also won the mixed doubles bronze medal at the 1997 European Junior Championships in Nymburk, Czech Republic.

Christopher Grimley is a Scottish badminton player who competes in international level events. His doubles partner is his twin brother Matthew Grimley. Christopher has competed at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.

Julie Claire MacPherson is a Scottish badminton player who competes in international level events both for Scotland and Great Britain. She affiliate with club V3F, Mulhouse. She has won the Scottish National Championships four times in the women's doubles and two times in the mixed doubles. She also part of team Scotland that won the bronze medal at the 2020 European Women's Team Championships.
