Christopher Grimley (born 6 February 2000) is a Scottish badminton player who competes in international level events. His doubles partner is his twin brother Matthew Grimley. [2] Christopher has competed at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. [3]

Career

Early career

Christopher Grimley started to know about badminton at the age of six because his parents playing this sport. He used to attend Lourdes Primary School before he got the chance to move to the Glasgow School of Sport, based at Bellahouston Academy. The twins have already won a host of titles and are the Scottish National U–13 doubles champions in 2012. They also hold the doubles titles for Glasgow, the West of Scotland and the East of Scotland. Christopher also won the Glasgow U–13 singles title. [4]

2017–2018

In 2017, Christopher and Matthew reached the round of 16 at the 2017 BWF World Junior Championships. The twins then won the silver medal at the 2018 European Junior Championships. [5]

2019–2020

In 2019, Christopher and Matthew were at least in the final four in six tournaments, and finished as runner-up at the Portugal International tournament. [6]

In March 2020, the twins ranked as number 60 in BWF World ranking. [6]

He was a World Championships medalists winning a silver in 2011 with Imogen Bankier and a bronze in 2017 with Gabby Adcock. Max Weißkirchen is a German badminton player. He participated at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China. Weißkirchen won gold and silver medals at the 2015 European Junior Championships in mixed doubles and boys' singles events respectively.

Lucas Maurice Corvée is a French badminton player affiliated with Issy Les Moulineaux 92 club. Corvée started playing badminton at aged 6 in Alençon badminton club. His mother also a professional badminton player. He became a member of the France national badminton team in 2010, then in 2011, he won a bronze medal at the European Junior Championships in boys' doubles event. Corvée was the champion of the 2013 Puerto Rico International tournament in the men's doubles event partnered with Brice Leverdez.

Alexander Dunn is a Scottish badminton player. Born in Bellshill, Dunn started playing badminton at aged seven, and joined the national team in 2009. He won a bronze medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships in the boys' doubles event with his partner Adam Hall, also the silver medal in the mixed doubles event with Eleanor O'Donnell in 2017. He competed at the 2018 and 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Thom Mark Gicquel is a French badminton player. Competing in the mixed doubles, he was able to reach the top 10 of the BWF world rankings with his partner Delphine Delrue. Together with Delrue, he won the gold medal in the 2024 European Championships; silver in the 2022 European Championships, and 2023 European Games; and also bronze in the 2019 European Games.

Yuta Watanabe is a Japanese badminton player. He is a member of the Nihon Unisys team, and national team A representative. Known for his quick and explosive movements with signature drop shots on court, Watanabe, together with Arisa Higashino, had won 2 consecutive bronze medals in the mixed doubles event at the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics, as well as being four-time BWF World Championships medalists.

Jason Anthony Ho-Shue is a Canadian badminton player. He won the gold medal in the men's doubles at the 2019 Pan American Games, and at the Pan Am Championships in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. He also won the men's singles title at the Pan Am Championships in 2016.

Christo Popov is a French badminton player who affiliate with Fos club. He was the boys' doubles European U15 and U17 Junior Champions, also won the boys' singles silver medals at the 2018 European and 2019 World Junior Championships. He reached a career high as boys' singles World Junior number 1 in January 2020. He then clinched the boys' singles title at the 2020 European Junior Championships. In 2024, he became the first Frenchman to reach the semi-finals of the All England Open.

Ciara Torrance is a Scottish badminton player who competes in international level events. She is a Scottish National women's doubles champion, winning in 2020 with her partner Julie MacPherson. Torrance was part of team Scotland that won the bronze medal at the 2020 European Women's Team Championships.
