Kurihara competed with her former partner Kenta Kazuno in the mixed doubles at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Karin Schnaase is a German badminton player. She represented her country at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She placed 2nd in her group during group play and did not advance to the next round. She is well known for the broken shoe incident with Laura Sarosi at the 2016 European Badminton Championships, where Sarosi handed her spare shoe to make Schnaase able to continue the match. Schnaase later won the match which made Sarosi unable to gain more points for Olympic badminton qualification.

Pullela Gayatri Gopichand is an Indian badminton player. She is the daughter of former badminton players P. V. V. Lakshmi and Pullela Gopichand. She was part of the national team that clinched the women's team gold medal at the 2019 South Asian Games, and a silver in the women's singles; She also competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, winning a silver in the mixed team and a bronze medal in the women's doubles. Gopichand became the first woman Indian doubles specialist to make the semi-finals of All England Open 21 years after her father's feat.

B. M. Rahul Bharadwaj is an Indian badminton player. Trained at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, he was the boys' singles U–15 National Champions in 2014, and won his first international title at the 2019 Uganda International tournament. He later won the 2019 Kenya and Croatian International tournaments.
