Ian Maconachie was an Irish badminton player. He represented Ireland in the national team and competed in many All England Championships with the highlight being the 1937 mixed doubles winner together with Thelma Kingsbury. [1]

The All England Open Badminton Championships is the world's oldest badminton tournament, held annually in England. With the introduction of the BWF's latest grading system, it was given Super Series status in 2007, upgraded to Super Series Premier status in 2011.

In 1960 Susan Devlin married Irish badminton player Frank Peard and thereafter resided in Ireland. She won two Irish national women's doubles titles and played Uber Cup for Ireland in the '62-'63 and '65-'66 campaigns. In 1976 she was inducted into the U.S. Badminton Hall of Fame, now known as the Walk of Fame. In 2009, both Susan and Judy were inducted into the Goucher College athletics Hall of Fame.

Thelma Kingsbury (1911–1979), was an English-born, naturalised American sportswoman who won major badminton titles in the British Isles and then in the US from the early 1930s to the early 1950s.

Albert Prebble Badminton player

Albert Davis Prebble was an English badminton and tennis player and a prominent badminton official. He captained the England badminton team in their first international match against Ireland in 1903. He won the All England badminton men's doubles three times. He also won the badminton mixed doubles in 1909 with Dora Boothby, the same year that he reached the Wimbledon Championships mixed doubles final with the same partner.

Dorothy Ursula Cundall was an English badminton player. Born in 1882 in Richmond, London she was a prominent player before the First World War winning three All England titles. In 1912 she married Douglas Harvey. Cundall played as Mrs Harvey afterwards.

Alice Gowenlock English badminton player

Alice Maud Gowenlock was an English badminton player. Born in Lambeth in 1878 she was a prominent player before the First World War and a member of the Richmond BC. She won two All England titles. and played for England just once against Ireland in 1911-12. She died in 1957 at the age of 80 in Worthing, Sussex.
