Lisa Ayu Kusumawati (born 15 January 2000) is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Djarum club. [1]
Kusumawati was born in Sleman, Yogyakarta, and joining Djarum club in 2012. She has won four U17 National circuit titles. [2] She won her first international title at the 2019 Finnish Open in the mixed doubles event partnered with Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto. [3]
In March, Kusumawati and Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto reached their first BWF Tour final in the Orléans Masters but lost to Singaporean pair of Terry Hee and Tan Wei Han. [4] In October, they reached another final in the Vietnam Open but lost to fellow Indonesian pair of Dejan Ferdinansyah and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja. [5] In November, they claimed their first ever BWF World Tour title in the Hylo Open by defeating Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping in the final in straight games. [6]
Kusumawati and Kusharjanto opened the 2023 season at the Malaysia Open, but defeated in the second round to Malaysian pair Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei. [7] In the next tournament, they lost again in second round of the India Open from top seed Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong. [8] They competed at the home tournament, Indonesia Masters, but had to lose in the first round from Japanese pair Kyohei Yamashita and Naru Shinoya. [9] For the fourth consecutive time, they lost early in the second round of the Thailand Masters, this time from Korean pair Kim Won-ho and Jeong Na-eun. [10]
In February, Kusumawati join the Indonesia national badminton team to compete at the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships, but unfortunately the teams lost in the quarter-finals from team Korea. [11]
In March, Kusumawati and Kusharjanto competed in the European tour. They able to reached the All England Open semi-finals, but must admit the toughness of the world number 1 mixed doubles pair Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong in a close rubber games. [12] In the next tour, they lost in the second round of Swiss Open, [13] and bounced back by reaching the quarter-finals of the Spain Masters, [14] and then the semi-finals of the Orléans Masters. [15]
In late April, Kusumati with her partner, Kursharjanto, then competed at the Asian Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, but had to retire in the first round from Chinese Taipei pair Chang Ko-chi and Lee Chih-chen. [16]
In May, Kusumati made his debut at the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games in May, and emerged victorious in the mixed doubles with Kusharjanto. [17] Her names also included in the Indonesia squad that won the silver medal in the women's team. [18] [19] In late May, they competed in the second Asian Tour at the Malaysia Masters. Unfortunately, they lost in the second round from Thai pair Supak Jomkoh and Supissara Paewsampran in straight games. [20]
In June, Kusumawati and Kusharjanto competed at the Singapore Open, but lost in the first round from 7th seed Malaysian pair Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai. [21] In the next tour, they competed at the home tournament, Indonesia Open, but lost in the second round from Danish pair Mathias Thyrri and Amalie Magelund. [22] In the next tour, they also lost in the second round at the Taipei Open from 331st ranked host pair Tseng Min-hao and Hsieh Pei-shan. [23]
In late July, Kusumawati and Kusharjanto competed at the 2023 Japan Open, but lost in the first round against Hong Kong pair Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet. [24]
In August, Kusumawati and Kusharjanto competed at the Australian Open, but had to lose in the first round from Hong Kong pair Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet for second consecutive match. [25] She and her partner then played at the World Championships, but lost in the third round from 2nd seed Japanese pair Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino in straight games. [26] Kusumawati made her debut at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, [27] but failed to bring home any medals after lost in the opening round of the mixed doubles, [28] while the Indonesia team was eliminated in the quarter-finals. The BWF World Tour, which was announced on 19 March 2017 and implemented in 2018, [30] is a series of elite badminton tournaments sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with PB Djarum since 2007. She was the 2011 Indonesia National and World Junior Champions in the mixed doubles event. For her achievements, Widjaja was awarded as the best Djarum player of the year. She won her first senior international title in 2014 Macau Open Grand Prix Gold.
Melati Daeva Oktavianti is an Indonesian doubles specialist badminton player affiliated with Djarum club since 2008. She was the 2019 SEA Games gold medalist in the mixed doubles with Praveen Jordan, and 2012 World Junior mixed doubles champion partnered with Edi Subaktiar. Oktavianti and Subaktiar partnership were also a former world junior number 1.
