The 2018 BWF World Junior Championships (officially known as the Li-Ning BWF World Junior Championships 2018 for sponsorship reasons) was the twentieth edition of the BWF World Junior Championships. It was held in Markham, Canada at Markham Pan Am Centre from 5 to 18 November 2018. This was the second time Canada had hosted the Badminton World Junior Championships. [1]

Host city selection

Canada was the only bidder for this event and the bid was approved by the Badminton World Federation in June 2017. [2]

As a competitor for Ontario, Li also won singles, doubles, and mixed team titles at the 2011 Canada Winter Games.

The 2013 Sudirman Cup was the thirteenth tournament of the Sudirman Cup. It was held from May 19–26, 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Ruselli Hartawan is an Indonesian badminton player. She is the member of Jaya Raya Jakarta badminton club, and selected to join the national team in 2013. She competed in the girls' singles badminton at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China, but she was stopped in the quarter-finals after being defeated by Akane Yamaguchi of Japan. In 2017, she won the women's singles title at the national championships in Pangkal Pinang.

Du Yue is a Chinese badminton player. She won the silver medal at the 2014 Asian Junior Championships in the girls' doubles event partnered with Li Yinhui. She and Li then made it to the gold medal 2015. Du also claimed the girls' doubles gold in 2016 partnered with Xu Ya and doubled-up the title winning mixed doubles gold with He Jiting. She and He Jiting captured the gold medal at the 2016 World Junior Championships, which in the previous year they won the silver medal. She won her first senior international title at the 2017 China International tournament in the women's doubles event partnered with Xu Ya. Du was the mixed doubles silver medalist at the 2019 Asian Championships, and the women's doubles bronze medalist at the 2019 World Championships.

Kittisak Namdash is a Thai badminton player. He was the boys' doubles champion at the Singapore Youth International tournament partnered with Peeranat Boontan. In 2013, he won double title at the Thailand Junior Championships in the boys' singles and doubles event. Namdash was part of the Thailand team that won the mixed team bronze medal at the 2017 Summer Universiade. He won his first senior international title at the 2018 Thailand Masters in the men's doubles event partnered with Tinn Isriyanet.

The teams event of the 2018 BWF World Junior Championships was held on 5–10 November 2018. The event also known as the 2018 Suhandinata Cup. China was the champion of the last edition held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and also 12-time defending champion in this event.

Brian Yang is a Canadian badminton player. He was an integral part of the Team Alpha that won the mixed team relay gold at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.

The boys' singles of the tournament 2019 BWF World Junior Championships was held from 7 to 13 October 2019. The defending champions is Kunlavut Vitidsarn from Thailand.

The girls' singles of the tournament 2019 BWF World Junior Championships held from 7 to 13 October 2019. Goh Jin Wei from Malaysia was the champion in the last edition.

Su Li-yang is a Taiwanese badminton player.

Liang Weikeng is a Chinese badminton player. He was part of Chinese winning team at the 2023 Sudirman Cup, and at the same year won the men's doubles bronze medal at the BWF World Championships partnered with Wang Chang. Liang and Wang won their first title as a pair in the 2022 Japan Open.

Liu Shengshu is a Chinese badminton player. She won both the girls' and mixed doubles categories at the 2022 World Junior Championships. She helped the national team win the 2023 Asia Mixed Team Championships.

Tan Ning is a Chinese badminton player. She was the girls' singles bronze medalist at the 2019 Badminton Asia Junior Championships in Suzhou.
