The 2006 World University Boxing Championships took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan between October 2 and 9 2006. 82 boxers from 14 countries participated at the second edition tournament. [1]

In boxing, the undisputed champion of a weight class is the boxer who simultaneously holds world titles from all major organizations recognized by each other and the International Boxing Hall of Fame. There were many undisputed champions before the number of major sanctioning bodies recognizing each other increased to four in 2007, but there have been only 19 boxers to hold all four titles simultaneously.

Larry Wade is an American former track and field athlete who specialized in the 110 metres hurdles. His personal best is a time of 13.01 seconds, achieved in July 1999 in Lausanne which made him the seventh fastest man in history of the event. Wade was inducted into the Texas A&M University Hall of Fame after winning the NCAA National Championship in the 55 and 110 hurdles. Wade later went on to become one of the leading strength and conditioning coaches in the sport of boxing by winning 14 World Titles. Wade has worked with professional boxers such as Shawn Porter, Badou Jack, Caleb Plant,Youtube Superstars Jake Paul and Olajide Olatunji just to name a few. He also is a sports commentator for many networks such as ESPN and Fox Sports. Wade was given a proclamation from the City of Las Vegas for his work with Professional and Amateur Boxers naming December 15 officially Larry Wade Day in Nevada.

The Miami RedHawks are the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, United States. The association includes officially 203 national boxing federations, a number actually debatable since the creation of the rival organisation World Boxing.

The 2007 AIBA World Boxing Championships were held in Chicago, United States from October 23, 2007 to November 3, 2007. It was held at the UIC Pavilion. It was the biggest World Championships in AIBA history.

The European Union Amateur Boxing Championships is a competition for amateur boxers from the European Union and its candidate countries. The championships are organised by the continent's governing body, the European Boxing Confederation (EUBC). The first edition of the men's tournament took place in 2003 in Strasbourg, France and the women's in 2006 in Porto Torres, Italy. The men's tournament was held annually from 2003 to 2009 and every four years since 2014, while the women's tournament was held annually from 2006 to 2011 and every four years since 2013.

In combat sports where champions are determined by challenge, the lineal championship in a weight class represents an intangible world title first held by the victor of a bout between top contenders in the division.

A fighter who defeats the reigning champion in a match within the same weight class becomes the next lineal champion. In professional boxing, the lineal champion is informally known as "the man who beat the man."

The IBA Youth World Boxing Championships and the IBA Junior World Boxing Championships are amateur boxing competitions organised by the International Boxing Association (IBA), the sport's governing body, for "Youth" competitors—ages 17 or 18 years old (U19), and for "Junior" competitors—ages 15 or 16 years old (U17), respectively. The Youth world championship began in 1979 in Yokohama, Japan, and has been held biennially since 1990. The Junior world championship began in 2001 in Baku, Azerbaijan, and has been held biennially since 2007.
