Kim Joong-soo (born 17 April 1960) is a South Korean former badminton player and coach. [1] He now serves as Badminton World Federation director,Badminton Asia president,and Badminton Korea Association vice-chairman.
Kim was a member of the Korean men's team that won gold at the 1986 Asian Games.
Kim is better known as a coach. After several years coaching the national team in the 1990s,he became the head coach of the national team after the Sydney Olympics and held the post until he was replaced by Sung Han-kook in December 2010. [2] He served briefly as the interim head coach after Sung was dismissed in August 2012 [3] but in early 2013,Lee Deuk-choon was named as a permanent replacement.
In May 2021,Kim was elected as a director of the Badminton World Federation (BWF),with the term of office is until 2025. [4]
At the 2023 Badminton Asia general meeting,Kim was elected as a president of Badminton Asia with 29 votes out of 40 countries. He will serve until 2027. [5]
In 1991,Kim married two-time World Champion Chung Myung-hee. [6]

Kim Dong-moon is a retired South Korean badminton player who won major titles between the mid-1990s and the mid-2000s (decade),and widely regarded as one of finest men's doubles and mixed doubles players in badminton history. Kim captured the world attention when he unexpectedly winning the gold medal in the mixed doubles event with Gil Young-ah at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics. On his path to greatness,he won gold medals both in men's and mixed doubles at the 1999 World Championships. Kim and Ra Kyung-min,partnered up to become one of the strongest mixed doubles pairings of that time. They did not drop a single match from April to November in 2003. They won 10 straight victorious tournaments:9 consecutive Grand Prix events and one World Championship title. Their excellent results in 2003 earned Kim and Ra the Eddie Choong Player of the Year award. He captured this award previously by himself in 2002. Despite their domination,the golden couple crashed in the second round against the Danish partnership of Jonas Rasmussen and Rikke Olsen at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Kim however redeemed himself with a gold medal in men's doubles with Ha Tae-kwon. After the 2004 Olympics,Kim retired from playing and married his former mixed doubles partner,Ra in 2005. Kim is currently the only South Korean player to have ever won Olympic gold in both the men's and mixed doubles events. He was inducted into the BWF Hall of Fame in 2009.

She won the gold medal at the 1995 IBF World Championships in women's doubles,playing with Gil Young-ah. At 18 years,3 months,and 19 days,she was the youngest player ever to win a World Championship title,in any discipline. The same year she won the 1995 All England Open Badminton Championships. She reached a career high as women's doubles world number 1 with Gil in August 1995. Jang competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics,and she won the silver medal in the women's doubles together with Gil Young-ah.
Kim Yun-ja is a retired female badminton player from South Korea. She is the last player to win All England Open titles in both singles and doubles.
Lee Deuk-choon is a retired male badminton player from South Korea. In 2013,he became head coach of the Korean National Badminton Team after nearly 20 years as the head coach of the Junior National Team. He replaced Kim Joong-soo,who was the acting head coach following the removal of Sung Han-kook. Lee was replaced as head coach on January 1,2017 by Kang Kyung-jin.

Sung Ji-hyun is a South Korean badminton player from Seoul. She is an Asian Championship gold medalist,a two-time Summer Universiade gold medalist,and a World Championship bronze medalist. She was also part of South Korean teams that won the 2010 Uber Cup,2017 Sudirman Cup,as well the team event at the 2013 and 2015 Summer Universiade. She competed at the 2010,2014 and 2018 Asian Games,and at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. Sung is married to compatriot men's singles player,Son Wan-ho. She coaches An Se-young.
Akane Yamaguchi is a Japanese badminton player. She was a two-time world champion who won gold medals in the women's singles at the 2021 and 2022 World Championships. She was a member of the winning Japanese team at the Asian Junior Championships in 2012 and won the World Junior Championships in 2013 and 2014,the Asian Junior Championships in 2014,and the Asian Championships in 2019.

He was the men's doubles World Champion in 2018,two-time Asian Champion in 2017 and 2018,and also a silver medalist at the 2020 Summer Olympics partnered with Li Junhui. Liu was part of the national team that won the 2018 Asian Games,2018 Thomas Cup,and 2019 Sudirman Cup. Together with Li,he achieved the men's doubles world number 1 in 6 April 2017,and occupied the top ranking for ten weeks.

Kang Kyung-jin is a former badminton player and coach from South Korea. He was the men's doubles champion at the 1997 All England Open and 1998 Asian Championships. He competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics.
Hwang Hye-youn is a retired female badminton player from South Korea.
Han Yue is a Chinese badminton player. She won the girls' singles title at the 2017 Asian Junior Championships,and the mixed team title at the World Junior Championships. Han was a part of the national team that won the 2019 Tong Yun Kai Cup. Her best achievements in an individual event were becoming the champion at the BWF World Tour Super 300 2018 Syed Modi International and the 2022 Hylo Open.
