Mia Audina Tjiptawan is a former Indonesian badminton player who represented Indonesia and later the Netherlands in international competitions. A badminton prodigy, Audina first played Uber Cup for Indonesia at age fourteen, winning the decisive final match in the championship round against China in 1994. She was briefly ranked as the World No.1 women's singles player in October 1996. Audina helped Indonesia to retain the Uber Cup title in 1996, and was a member of the 1998 Indonesian team which relinquished the Cup to China, before moving to the Netherlands with her Dutch-national husband in 2000.
Lucia Francisca "Susi" Susanti Haditono is a retired Indonesian badminton player. Relatively small of stature, she combined quick and graceful movement with elegant shotmaking technique, and is regarded by many as one of the greatest women's singles players of all time. She is the first Indonesian Olympic gold medalist and the only Indonesian woman to do so until Lilyana Natsir accomplished the feat in 2016.
Liem Swie King is an Indonesian former badminton player who excelled from the late 1970s through the mid-1980s. He won the All England in 1978, 1979 and 1981. Along with Morten Frost (Denmark), Han Jian and Luan Jin (China), and Prakash Padukone (India), he was one of the world's leading singles players of that era. A world level player in men's doubles as well as men's singles, he was known for the ferocity of his jumping smash.

Yuta Watanabe is a badminton player from Japan. He is a member of the Nihon Unisys team, and national team A representative. Known for his quick and explosive movements with his signature drop shot. Watanabe has collected three bronze medals at the World Junior Championships, and also four bronze at the Asian Junior Championships. Watanabe was selected to join the Japanese mixed team compete at the 2017 Sudirman Cup in Gold Coast, Australia, winning a gold medal in the qualification to Gold Coast at the 2017 Asia Mixed Team Championships in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and the team finished in the semi-final round, took the bronze medal. The left-handed Watanabe has won the maiden Super 1000 tournament a total of four times, the first ever male player from Japan to win an All England Open title. First at the 2018 All England Open in the mixed doubles event partnered with Arisa Higashino, then in the 2020 All England Open in the men's doubles event with Hiroyuki Endo, and in both men's and mixed doubles in the 2021 All England Open, defending his men's doubles title with Hiroyuki Endo and winning the mixed doubles category with once again, Arisa Higashino.
Shiho Tanaka is a retired Japanese badminton player who affilate with Hokuto Bank team. She was the bronze medalists at the 2018 World Championships in the women's doubles, and at the 2015 Summer Universiade in the women's singles. She won the year-end tournament Superseries Finals in 2017. Tanaka was part of Japanese winning team at the 2017 Asia Mixed Team Championships, 2018 Uber Cup, and at the 2018 Asia Women's Team Championships.

The 1991 Badminton World Cup was the thirteenth edition of an international tournament Badminton World Cup. The event was held in Portuguese Macau from 7 August to 10 August 1991. Indonesia won the men's singles and mixed doubles events while China won the women's singles. Malaysia secured a title in men's doubles discipline & South Korea clinched the women's doubles title.
The 1989 Badminton World Cup was the eleventh edition of an international tournament Badminton World Cup. The event was held in from 15 to 19 November 1989. China won the men's singles & women's doubles categories while South Korea secured titles in men's doubles & mixed doubles discipline. Indonesia's Susi won women's singles title.
The 1980 Badminton World Cup was the second edition of an international tournament Badminton World Cup. The event was held in Kyoto, Japan in the month of January. Competitions for mixed doubles were not conducted. Indonesia won men's singles and men's doubles events while Japan won women's doubles and Denmark won women's singles event.
