The 1971 Asia Badminton Championships was the 4th tournament of the Badminton Asia Championships. [1] It was held August 1971 in Jakarta, Indonesia. [2]

Minarni first played in the then triennial Uber Cup competition for Indonesia in her mid teens (1959). In her last Uber Cup campaign (1974-1975) her excellent doubles play helped Indonesia to win its first women's world team title.

The Asian Badminton Championships 1976 took place from 30 October- 7 November in Hyderabad India. Indonesia won the men's team competition after beating China 3–2 in the final. The match for third place between Japan and Malaysia also ended 3–2.
