Datuk Lee Chong Wei is a Malaysian former badminton player. As a singles player, Lee was ranked first worldwide for 349 weeks, including a 199-week streak from 21 August 2008 to 14 June 2012. He is the fifth Malaysian player after Foo Kok Keong, Rashid Sidek, Roslin Hashim and Wong Choong Hann to achieve such a ranking, and is the only Malaysian shuttler who has held the number one ranking for more than a year.

Ng Wei is a former Hong Kong badminton player from Jiangsu. He competed in three consecutive Summer Olympics in 2000, 2004 and 2008. Ng was the bronze medalist at the 1999 Asian Junior Championships, also at the 2003 and 2005 Asian Championships. Ng retired from the international badminton in 2010, and now works as a badminton coach.

Saina Nehwal is an Indian professional badminton player. A former world no. 1, she has won 24 international titles, which includes ten Superseries titles. Although she reached the world's 2nd in 2009, it was only in 2015 that she was able to attain the world no. 1 ranking, thereby becoming the only female player from India and therafter the second Indian player – after Prakash Padukone – to achieve this feat. She has represented India three times in the Olympics, winning a bronze medal in her second appearance at London 2012.

The Badminton Asia is the governing body of badminton in Asia. It is one of the 5 continental bodies under the flag of the Badminton World Federation (BWF). The confederation was established in 1959, headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It aims to maintain Asia as the benchmark for world badminton in many years to come. It now has 43 member federations. It had decided in the Annual General Meeting on July 16, 2006 that the confederation name was changed from Asian Badminton Confederation (ABC) to Badminton Asia Confederation (BAC).

Liliyana Natsir is an Indonesian former badminton player who specialized in doubles. She is one of the standout front court player, with dexterousness and skill in controlling and executing the shuttlecock. Natsir has tremendous record over more than two decade by winning a gold and a silver from the Olympic Games, and four gold medals at the BWF World Championships. Her achievements are recognized worldwide, and was inducted in the BWF Hall of Fame in 2022.

Greysia Polii is an Indonesian former badminton player specializing in doubles. She won gold medals in the women's doubles at the 2014 Asian Games, at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She also won three bronze medals at the World Championships in 2015, 2018, and 2019. Du Yue is a Chinese badminton player. She won the silver medal at the 2014 Asian Junior Championships in the girls' doubles event partnered with Li Yinhui. She and Li then made it to the gold medal 2015. Du also claimed the girls' doubles gold in 2016 partnered with Xu Ya and doubled-up the title winning mixed doubles gold with He Jiting. She and He Jiting captured the gold medal at the 2016 World Junior Championships, which in the previous year they won the silver medal. She won her first senior international title at the 2017 China International Challenge tournament in the women's doubles event partnered with Xu Ya. Du was the mixed doubles silver medalist at the 2019 Asian Championships, and the women's doubles bronze medalist at the 2019 World Championships.

Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo is an Indonesian badminton player. He was a World junior silver medalist in 2016 and Asian Championships bronze medalist in 2022. Dwi Wardoyo also part of Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup.

The 1994 Asian Badminton Championships was the 13th edition of the Badminton Asia Championships. It was held in Shanghai Gymnasium, Shanghai, China, from April 6 to April 10. Except the Men's singles discipline which was won by Malaysia; China won all the titles.
