The 2014 Badminton Asia Championships was the 33rd edition of the Badminton Asia Championships. It was held in Gimcheon, South Korea, from April 22 to April 27. [1]

Kang Ji-wook is a South Korean badminton player. He first came to international attention when he became the runner-up in three different events at the 2010 BWF World Junior Championships. He won the silver medal in the boys' singles, mixed doubles and mixed team event. He also won the gold medal in the boys' doubles event at the 2010 Asian Junior Badminton Championships, and at the same year, he competed at the Singapore Summer Youth Olympics where he won the boys' singles bronze.

The Korea Masters is an international badminton tournament that usually held in November or December every year of BWF event calendar in South Korea. The total prize money in 2016 was US$120,000. Before 2010, the level of the tournament was an International Challenge, which is the fourth level tournament of international badminton tournament. It began in 2007, when it was held in Suwon, then it moved to Yeosu in 2008 and Hwasun in 2009. In 2010, it was turned into a BWF Grand Prix event.

Yoo Chae-ran is a South Korean badminton player who joined the South Korea national badminton team in 2011. At the Asian Championships, she won women's doubles bronze medal in 2013 and silver medal in 2017.

Đỗ Tuấn Đức is a Vietnamese badminton player from Hanoi. He was the bronze medalist at the Gimcheon, South Korea 2012 Asian Junior Championships in the mixed doubles event partnered with Lê Thu Huyền. In 2004, he reach the semi-final round in the boys' singles event at the Richmond World Junior Championships and Hwacheon Asian Junior Championships and settle for the bronze medal. At the senior event, he won the 2006 India Satellite, 2009 Osaka International Challenge and 2015 Apacs Mongolia International Series tournament.

Cheam June Wei is a Malaysian badminton player. He was the mixed doubles gold medalist at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics.

Heo Kwang-hee is a South Korean badminton player who was educated at the Dankook University. He was selected to join the national team in 2012, and joined the Samsung Electro-Mechanics team in 2014. Heo was the bronze medalists at the 2012 World Junior Championships in the boys' singles and team event, and Asian Junior Championships in the team event. Heo later won the boys' singles and mixed team gold medals at the 2013 World Junior Championships, and the mixed team silver medal at the Asian Junior Championships. In the senior level tournament, Heo was the semi-finalists at the 2017 U.S. and 2018 New Zealand Open. He competed at the 2018 Asian Games and at the 2020 Summer Olympics, is best known for upsetting top-seeded Kento Momota in the group stage of the latter tournament.

Jang Young-soo is a South Korean badminton player. He was the gold medalists at the 2002 Busan Asian Games. Jang who educated at the Inha University won the men's singles title at the Summer National Championships in 2003. He later won the 51st and 55th National Championships men's singles title. He won his first international title at the 2003 Hungarian International tournament. In December 2018, Jang who is a trainer in Gimcheon city, was appointed as a South Korea national coach.

Jacky Kok Jing Hong is a Malaysian badminton player. In 2022, he won his first senior title at the Swedish Open.
