The 2005 Badminton World Cup was the twentieth edition of an international tournament Badminton World Cup. The event was held at the Olympic Sports Park in Yiyang, Hunan, China from 14 to 18 December 2005. It was sanctioned by the International Badminton Federation and Table Tennis and Badminton Administration Center under China's State General Administration of Sport, with a total prize money of US$250,000. [1] This was the first time after 1997, this tournament was being conducted. Between 1997 and 2005, this tournament was halted due to various problems. [2] In the end of the competitions, China won the titles in all 5 disciplines. [3]

Liu Yuchen is a Chinese badminton player. He was the men's doubles World Champion in 2018, two-time Asian Champion in 2017 and 2018, and also a silver medalist at the 2020 Summer Olympics partnered with Li Junhui. Liu was part of the national team that won the 2018 Asian Games, 2018 Thomas Cup, and 2019 Sudirman Cup. Together with Li, he achieved the men's doubles world number 1 in 6 April 2017, and occupied the top ranking for ten weeks.

Qiao Bin is a Chinese badminton player. He won his first senior international title at the China International tournament. In 2016, Qiao who ranked 41 at that time clinched the Superseries title at the Korea Open, defeated the sixth seed, world number eight, Son Wan-ho in the final.

Wang Chang is a Chinese badminton player. He was the boys' doubles World Junior champion and two times Asian Junior champion partnering Di Zijian. Wang was part of Chinese winning team at the 2023 Sudirman Cup, and together with Liang Weikeng, they won the bronze medal at the 2023 World Championships. Wang and Liang reached a career high of world number 1 on 31st of October 2023.

Weng Hongyang is a Chinese badminton player. He won his first BWF World Tour title at the 2019 Lingshui China Masters.

The 2005 China Masters was a badminton tournament which took place at the University Students' Gymnasium in Beijing, China, on 29 August–4 September 2005 and had a total purse of $250,000. This is the inaugural edition of the tournament, and rated as 6–star IBF World Grand Prix event.

The 2006 Badminton World Cup was the twenty-first edition of the international Badminton World Cup tournament. The event was held at the Olympic Sports Park in Yiyang, Hunan, China, from 24 to 28 October 2006. It was organized by the Table Tennis and Badminton Administration Center under the General Administration of Sport of China, hosted by the Hunan Sports Bureau and the Yiyang People's Government, and also co-organized by China Mobile Group Hunan Co., Ltd., with a total prize money of US$250,000. Some of top players declined to participate, since there is no ranking points awarded in this tournament, and tight competition schedule at that year, with also held the World Championship, Thomas & Uber Cup, Asian Games, and the European Club League. In the end, the host Chinese national team won the men's singles, women's singles and women's doubles, while the men's and mixed doubles won by Indonesian players.

Huang Zhanzhong is a Chinese badminton player. He won the men's doubles title at the 1995 Asian Cup, and was part of Chinese team that won the 1990 Asian Games and 1995 Sudirman Cup. Huang competed in the men's doubles tournament at the 1996 Summer Olympics.

The 1990 Badminton World Cup was the twelfth edition of an international tournament Badminton World Cup. The event was held from 14 November to 18 November 1990. Competitions for group stage were conducted in Bandung while final matches were scheduled for Istora Senayan in Jakarta. Indonesia won the women's singles and mixed doubles events while China won the men's singles & women's doubles categories. Malaysia secured a title in men's doubles discipline.

The 1989 Badminton World Cup was the eleventh edition of an international tournament Badminton World Cup. The event was held in from 15 to 19 November 1989. China won the men's singles & women's doubles categories while South Korea secured titles in men's doubles & mixed doubles discipline. Indonesia's Susi won women's singles title.

The 1994 Badminton Asian Cup was the second edition of Badminton Asian Cup. It was held in Beijing Gymnasium, Beijing, China from 14 to 18 June with total prize money of US$120,000. Chinese team won titles in both the singles events and mixed doubles while Indonesia and South Korea won the men's doubles and women's doubles title respectively.

Feng Yanzhe is a Chinese badminton player. He was part of Chinese national team that won the 2018 World Junior Championships, the 2021 Sudirman Cup and the 2023 Asia Mixed Team Championships. He also won the mixed doubles title at the 2019 World Junior Championships.

Liang Weikeng is a Chinese badminton player. He was part of Chinese winning team at the 2023 Sudirman Cup, and at the same year won the men's doubles bronze medal at the BWF World Championships partnered with Wang Chang. Liang and Wang won their first title as a pair in the 2022 Japan Open.

The Turkmenistan national badminton team represents Turkmenistan in international badminton team competitions. Turkmenistan is one of the most isolated countries in the world. The national team is managed by the Turkmenistan Badminton Federation. The Turkmen junior team competed in the Badminton Asia Junior Championships mixed team event in 2015.

Chen Boyang is a Chinese badminton player. He won his first senior title at the Vietnam International Series in 2022 with his partner Liu Yi.
