The 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships (also known as the 2022 Selangor Badminton Asia Team Championship) was the fourth edition of Badminton Asia Team Championships, held at Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, from 15 to 20 February 2022. [1] This championships was organised by the Badminton Asia with Badminton Association of Malaysia as the host organiser. It was sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation. It served as the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup in Thailand. Indonesia, the three-time champions, and Japan were the defending champions of the men's and women's category respectively.

Tournament

The 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships will crown the best male and female national badminton teams in Asia and at the same time serve as the Asian qualification event towards the 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup finals. [2] Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, teams from Chinese Taipei and Thailand withdrew from the tournament.

Venue

This tournament will be held at Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. [2]

Seeds

The seeding was based on team ranking on 25 January 2022. [2]

      Draw

      The draw was held on 8 February 2022 at the Selangor State Sports Council in Shah Alam at 1:30pm. [2] Both men's and women's team group stage consist of 2 groups, A and B and Y and Z with 4 teams respectively except for group Y (3 teams).

      <span class="mw-page-title-main">2019 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships</span> Badminton tournament

      The 2019 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships were the second edition of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships which was held at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Hong Kong from 19 to 24 March 2019. It was organised by Badminton Asia and Hong Kong Badminton Association. The event was also known as the Tong Yun Kai Cup 2019.

      The group stage of the 2019 Sudirman Cup was the first stage of the competition. It was held at Guangxi Sports Center in Nanning, China, from 19 to 22 May. For Group 1, the top two teams from each group advanced to the final knockout stage to compete in a single-elimination tournament. Teams from group 2 and 3 play round robin in respective subgroup and advanced to classification round to determine the overall placings, meanwhile teams from group 4 play in a single round robin format for final placings.

      The teams event of the 2019 BWF World Junior Championships was held from 30 September to 5 October 2019. The event was also known as the 2019 Suhandinata Cup. China was the 13-time defending champions in this event.

      The 2020 Badminton Asia Team Championships was the third edition of Badminton Asia Team Championships, staged at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila, Philippines, from 11 to 16 February 2020. This championships was organized by the Badminton Asia with Philippine Badminton Association as host organiser and sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation. This tournament served as the Asian qualifiers for the 2020 Thomas & Uber Cup in Denmark. Competitors could also accumulate points as part of qualification process for 2020 Summer Olympics badminton tournament in Tokyo. Indonesia and Japan were the defending champions on men's and women's category respectively. They both successfully defended their title.

      This article will list the confirmed men's squads lists for the 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships. The ranking stated are based on the BWF World Ranking date on 8 February 2022 as per tournament's prospectus. Chinese Taipei and Thailand withdrew.

      The 2022 Thomas Cup qualification process is a series of tournaments organised by the five BWF confederations to decide 14 of the 16 teams which will play in the 2022 Thomas Cup, with Thailand qualifying automatically as hosts, and Indonesia qualifying automatically as trophy holder.

      The 2022 Uber Cup qualification process is a series of tournaments organised by the five BWF confederations to decide 14 of the 16 teams which will play in the 2022 Uber Cup, with Thailand qualifying automatically as hosts, and China qualifying automatically as trophy holder.

      The 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup was the 32nd edition of the Thomas Cup and the 29th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF). The tournament was hosted at Bangkok, Thailand in the Impact Arena from 8 to 15 May 2022. This marks the third time Thailand has hosted the Thomas Cup, and second time for the Uber Cup.

      The teams event of the 2022 BWF World Junior Championships was held from 17 – 22 October 2022. The event is also known as the 2022 Suhandinata Cup. Indonesia was the champion of the last edition held in Kazan, Russia.
