Baghini (English: The Tigress) is an Indian Bangla film which is based on the life of the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee. [1] [2] The release of the film was postponed several times, with the final release date set for 24 May 2019. [3]

In 2016, Nehal Dutt announced that he would direct a film based on the life of Mamata Banarjee. [2] It was also announced that Ruma Chakraborty would act as the main character, called Indira Banerjee. [4] A trailer was released in April 2019, and the director stated that the film would open in early May of the same year, [5] a date that was postponed to 24 May due to the general elections in West Bengal. [3] The original release had been planned for 2016. [6]

He was sworn in as Member of Legislative Assembly on 2 May 2021.

Bhobishyoter Bhoot is a 2019 Indian Bengali-language satirical comedy film directed by Anik Dutta. The film was released on 15 February 2019. Despite its similar topics, Dutta states that it is not a sequel to his film, Bhooter Bhabishyat (2012). All single and multiple screen theaters were stopped from showing the film immediately after release citing "orders from upper management". Various leading newspapers quoted unnamed sources, as well Dutta, as saying that the West Bengal police had issued these instructions to the theatres.

Projapoti is a 2022 Indian Bengali-language family drama film directed by Avijit Sen, produced by Atanu Raychaudhuri, co-produced by Dev and distributed by SSR Cinemas. The film features Mithun Chakraborty, Mamata Shankar and Koushani Mukherjee in lead roles. The movie was theatrically released on 23 December 2022 and had its digital premiere on the streaming platform ZEE5 on 14 April 2023. It received a blockbuster verdict at the box office. Made on a budget of ₹1.5 Crores, it grossed over ₹14 crores and became the highest grossing Bengali film of 2022 and the third highest-grossing Bengali films of all time.

Jagannath Temple is an important Hindu temple dedicated to Jagannath. The worshiped in this temple is Jagannath, a form of Vishnu – one of Hinduism's trinity of supreme divinity. The temple is located in the beach town of Digha in the Indian state of West Bengal. It was announced in 2018 and construction started in 2022, the temple is currently under construction.
