Bahuary is a village in the western part of Gamhariya Birta VDC in Rautahat district in Province No. 2 of the south-eastern Nepal. It consists of two wards, (7 & 8), of the VDC.

Volunteer Defence Corps (Australia)

The Volunteer Defence Corps (VDC) was an Australian part-time volunteer military force of World War II modelled on the British Home Guard. The VDC was established in July 1940 by the Returned and Services League of Australia (RSL) and was initially composed of ex-servicemen who had served in World War I. The government took over control of the VDC in May 1941, and gave the organisation the role of training for guerrilla warfare, collecting local intelligence and providing static defence of each unit's home area. General Harry Chauvel, who had retired in 1930, was recalled to duty in 1940 and appointed Inspector-General of the VDC. Chauvel held this position until his death in March 1945.

A Village Development Committee (VDC) in Nepal was the lower administrative part of its Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development. Each district had several VDCs, similar to municipalities but with greater public-government interaction and administration. There were 3,157 village development committees in Nepal. Each VDC was further divided into several wards depending on the population of the district, the average being nine wards.

Dilasaini Gaunpalika in Sudurpashchim Pradesh, Nepal

Dilasaini is a former village development committee that is now a Rural Municipality in Baitadi District in Sudurpashchim Pradesh of western Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 4,828 and had 849 houses in the village. There is one plus two, two high schools and many primary schools in the VDC. This VDC is bordered by Mathairaj, Gokuleshwor, Rudreswor and Rim VDC and Darchula district in the northwest. Ths VDC is named after a local deity. The temple of this devi is located in Dhamigaun which is one of the wards of the VDC. This temple is famous in far-western Nepal for the sacrifice of huge number of bull buffaloes on occasion of Dashain.

Dhurkot Nayagaun Village Development Committee in Lumbini Zone, Nepal

Dhurkot Nayagaun is a town and municipality in Gulmi District in the Lumbini Zone of central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 4692. This VDC is one of the most beautiful VDC of Gulmi and famous for Oranges. Literacy rate of this VDC is above 90℅. Politically above 75% people support CPM UML in this village. Belbari Municipality in Province No. 1, Nepal

Belbari, officially known as Belbari municipality, is one of the major suburbs of Morang district, Province No. 1.It lies in the eastern Terai region of Nepal. It was officially upgraded to become a municipality in 2014 AD, which is 2070 BS, which otherwise was a Village Development Committee (VDC) prior to that change. Bhanu is a municipality of Tanahun District in Gandaki Zone of western Nepal. The municipality was established on 19 September 2015 by merging the existing Bhanu village development committee or VDC, Barbhanjyang VDCs, Rupakot (VDC), Tanahunsur Village Development Committee, Purkot VDC, Mirlung VDC, Satiswara VDC, Risti VDC, Basantapur VDC and Chok Chisapani VDC. The center of the municipality is establish in former VDC Office of Bhanu. After merging the population of all of the VDCs, it had a total population of 46,179 according to 2011 Nepal census. After the government decision the number of municipalities has reached 217 in Nepal. Nepali poet Bhanubhakta Acharya was born in Bhanu Municipality. It was name after him.

Barahathwa Municipality Municipality in Janakpur, Nepal

Barahathwa is a municipality of the Sarlahi District in the Janakpur Zone of central Nepal. The municipality was established on 19 September 2015 by merging the existing Barahathwa, Murtiya, Hajariya and Laukat village development committees (VDCs). The center of the municipality is establish in the former VDC Office of Barahathwa Bazaar. After merging the four VDCs' populations, it had a total population of 50,424 according to 2011 Nepal census. After the government decision, the number of Nepali municipalities reached 217.

Gaunpalika Nepalese administrative subdivisions

Gaunpalika is the newly formed lower administrative division in Nepal. The Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (Nepal) dissolved the existing village development committees and announced the establishment of this new local body. There are currently 460 rural municipalities.
