The Baja Beach Fest is a reggaeton & latin music festival. The festival was inaugurated in 2018 and is held annually at Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico. [1] [2]
Baja Beach Fest was founded in 2018 by Rosarito-based Aaron Ampudia and Los Angeles-based Chris Den Uijl, who met in Encinitas and are the current co-owners and promoters of the festival. [3] It is an annual beachside festival held in the month of August every year. [4] [5]
The 2018 festival was one-day event which hosted 15 thousand people and featured performances by Bad Bunny, Yandel, Farruko and more artists. The 2019 festival was a two-day event which hosted 30 thousand people with performance by Ozuna, J Balvin, Becky G, Bad Bunny, and Nicky Jam along with other artists including Alex Rose, Brytiago, Cazzu, DJ Luian, Lyanno, and Amenazzy. The 2020 festival was to be a three-day event with headline artists including Ozuna, Anuel AA, Karol G & J Balvin, however, it got delayed for reasons related to the COVID-19 pandemic. [10] [11] In 2021, the festival hosted 30 thousand fans and expanded to two weekends featuring performances by artists including Ozuna, Karol G, El Alfa, Lunay, Dalex, Farruko, Becky G, Sech and DJ Luian. The organizers followed COVID19 regulations for safety. [12] [13] [14] [15]
The 2021 festival began from August 13 to August 22 with hosting artists including Karol G, Rauw Alejandro, Lunay, Guaynaa, Jhay Cortez, J Balvin, Kali Uchis, Justin Quiles and more.
The 2022 festival began from August 12-14th to August 19-21st with hosting artists including Daddy Yankee, Anuel AA, Maluma, Arcángel, Wisin & Yandel, Sech, Nicki Nicole, Natti Natasha, Myke Towers, Farruko, Emilia Mernes and more.
Carlos Efrén Reyes Rosado, better known by his stage name Farruko, is a Puerto Rican rapper and singer. He rose to fame collaborating with Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, Don Omar, and J Álvarez. He came to prominence in 2010 with his first solo album, El Talento del Bloque.

Latin trap is a subgenre of latin hip hop music that originated in Puerto Rico. A direct descendant of southern hip hop, and influenced by reggaeton, it gained popularity after 2007, and has since spread throughout Latin America. The trap is slang for a place where drugs are sold. Latin trap is similar to mainstream trap with lyrics about life on la calle, drugs, sex and violence.

Emmanuel Gazmey Santiago, known professionally as Anuel AA, is a Puerto Rican rapper and singer. His music often contains samples and interpolations of songs that were popular during his youth. He is seen as a controversial figure in the Latin music scene for his legal troubles and feuds with fellow Puerto Rican rappers Cosculluela, Ivy Queen and Arcángel as well as American rapper 6ix9ine. Raised in Carolina, Puerto Rico, he started recording music at age fourteen and began posting it online four years later in 2010, before eventually signing to the Latin division of fellow American rapper Rick Ross's Maybach Music Group. His 2016 mixtape Real Hasta la Muerte was well-received, but his success was put on hold the same year by a 30-month prison sentence for illegal firearm possession in Puerto Rico. He recorded the entirety of his debut album while incarcerated, during which time his genre of music surged in popularity.

The 31st Premio Lo Nuestro ceremony was held on February 21, 2019. Univision broadcast the show live from the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Mexican-American TV presenter, Alejandra Espinoza, Mexican singer and actress Maite Perroni, and American singer Victor Manuelle hosted the ceremony.
The 2019 Heat Latin Music Awards was held on May 13, 2019 at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Punta Cana, and broadcast live through HTV. The ceremony was hosted by Anaís Castro and Mariela Encarnación. The awards celebrated the year's biggest Latin music acts. J Balvin led the nominations with five, followed by Ozuna and Sebastián Yatra, with four each.
The 7th Annual MTV MIAW Awards took place on June 23, 2019 at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. It was broadcast live by MTV Latin America. The awards celebrated the best of Latin music and the digital world of the millennial generation. The list of nominees were revealed on May 6, 2019. Leading the list of nominees were J Balvin, Bad Bunny and Paulo Londra with five nominations each and Anitta with three nominations under her belt.
The 2019 Premios Juventud ceremony was held on July 18, 2019. Univision broadcast the show live from the Watsco Center in Miami, Florida. Argentine singer and actress Lali, boy band CNCO and Mexican-American TV presenter Alejandra Espinoza hosted the ceremony.
"Gan-Ga" is a song by Puerto Rican rapper Bryant Myers released on July 26, 2019. On November 15, 2019, a remix featuring Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA was released on and peaked 11 on the Hot Latin Songs chart.
The 27th Billboard Latin Music Awards ceremony, presented by Billboard magazine, honored the best performing Latin recordings, charting from February 2, 2019, to January 25, 2020. The ceremony was held on October 21, 2020, at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, in the periphery of Miami. The ceremony was televised in the United States by Telemundo for the 22nd time. The Billboard Latin Music Awards closed out LatinFest+, presented by Billboard and Telemundo, a three-day immersive experience dedicated to Latin music, culture and entertainment. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the formerly known as Billboard Latin Music Week, included virtual superstar conversations and workshops with, among others, Ozuna, Rosalía, Maluma, Black Eyed Peas, Carlos Vives and Los Tigres del Norte between October 20 and 23. The awards recognize the most popular Latin performers, songs, albums, labels, songwriters and producers in the United States. Recipients are based on sales, radio airplay, online streaming and social data during a one-year period.

The Premios Tu Música Urbano is an award presented by television network Telemundo Puerto Rico to recognize artists who "transcended and boosted the success of Latin urban music around the world." The show is held annually at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in Puerto Rico since 2019, is produced by Telemundo, Sora & Company and Mr. & Mrs. Entertainment, and is broadcast by Telemundo Puerto Rico in Latin America and by Telemundo in the United States. The awards were created in response to the lack of representation of reggaeton and Latin trap artists in the Latin Grammy Awards main categories and the absence of a separate Latin urban category at the Grammy Awards.

The 20th Premios Juventud was held on July 20, 2023, to recognize the best in pop culture of young Hispanic and Latino Americans in 2023. The ceremony took place at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the second year in a row. It was broadcast live on Univision. The ceremoy was hosted by Mexican singer Ángela Aguilar, Mexican TV host Alejandra Espinoza, Puerto Rican actress Dayanara Torres, and Brazilian actor Marcus Ornellas.
