The Balashikha Arena is a 6,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Balashikha, Russia. Opened in 2007, it replaced Vityaz Ice Palace as the home of HC MVD, a Kontinental Hockey League ice hockey team.

The 2017 national rink bandy cup took place in the arena. [1] [2]

Schools and divisions

On the territory of the Arena "Balashikha" there is a children's and youth sports school "Olympian" (ice hockey and figure skating sections). 1,000 children and adolescents attend the school. There are 18 groups of figure skating, and 13 hockey teams. [3]

At the complex territory, the branch of the Todes dance school-studio is opened. [4]

HC MVD was a professional ice hockey club based in Balashikha, Moscow Oblast, Russia. They were members of the Tarasov Division of the Kontinental Hockey League. They are best known for winning the silver medal in the KHL backstopped by all star goaltender Michael Garnett in 2010. The team merged with Dynamo Moscow to form UHC Dynamo after the 2009–10 season.

Uralsky Trubnik is a bandy club from Pervouralsk that plays in the Russian Bandy Super League. After the indoor stadium Volga-Sport-Arena in Ulyanovsk was finished, Uralsky Trubnik was for a few years the only club in the highest division without artificial ice. That is until Murman got promoted for the 2018-19 season. However, a decision to build an indoor bandy stadium has been taken. In 2017 the team won the pre-season tournament ExTeCupen. In 2019 the club for the first time in its history took a medal in the domestic league with a third place.

Yerevan Figure Skating and Hockey Sports School, is a figure skating centre and school in the Armenian capital Yerevan. The centre was opened in December 2015 and has a capacity of 538 seats. It is located on Admiral Isakov 27/10 Avenue, adjacent to the Yerevan Velodrome. The centre was named after the 10-time figure skating world champion and Russian politician Irina Rodnina. In 2019, the Yerevan City Council renamed the Irina Rodnina Figure Skating School to Yerevan Figure Skating and Hockey Sports School.

The Russian Cup in Figure Skating is a series of annual All-Russian figure skating competitions among Russian figure skaters, organized by the Figure Skating Federation of Russia. The Russian Cup competitions include five stages and the final of the Russian Cup, in which athletes compete in men's and women's single skating, pair figure skating and in ice dancing.
