Balikpapan Sport and Convention Center or can be locally referred to as Dome Balikpapan is a multipurpose indoor arena located in Balikpapan, Indonesia. [1] The building was built by the Government of Balikpapan for 2008 Pekan Olahraga Nasional.
The Dome at America's Center is a multi-purpose stadium used for concerts, major conventions and sporting events in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, United States. Previously known as the Trans World Dome from 1995 to 2001 and the Edward Jones Dome from 2002 to 2016, it was constructed largely to lure a National Football League (NFL) team back to St. Louis and to serve as a convention space.

The Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) is a convention center in Atlanta, Georgia. Enclosing some 3.9 million ft2 in exhibition space and hosting more than a million visitors each year, the GWCC is the third-largest convention center in the United States. Opened in 1976, the GWCC was the first state-owned convention center established in the United States. The center is operated on behalf of the state by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, which was chartered in 1971 by Georgia General Assembly to develop an international trade and exhibition center in Atlanta. The authority later developed the Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which replaced the Georgia Dome. In 2017, the Georgia Dome was closed on March 5 and demolished by implosion on November 20 while Mercedes-Benz Stadium officially opened on August 26. While the GWCCA owns Mercedes-Benz Stadium, AMB Group, the parent organization for the National Football League's Atlanta Falcons and Major League Soccer's Atlanta United FC, is responsible for the stadium's operations.
The RCA Dome was a domed stadium in Indianapolis. It was the home of the Indianapolis Colts NFL franchise for 24 seasons (1984–2007).

The Integratron is a 38 feet (12 m) tall cupola structure with a diameter of 55 feet (17 m) designed by ufologist and contactee George Van Tassel. Van Tassel claimed the Integratron was capable of rejuvenation, anti-gravity and time travel. He built the structure in Landers, California, following instructions that Van Tassel vehemently claimed were provided directly to him by visitors from the planet Venus. The Integratron machine was started in 1957, the structure erected in 1959. It was financed predominantly by donations, including funds from Howard Hughes.
The Battle of Balikpapan was the concluding stage of Operation Oboe, the campaign to liberate Japanese-held British and Dutch Borneo. The landings took place on 1 July 1945. The Australian 7th Division, composed of the 18th, 21st and 25th Infantry Brigades, with a small number of Netherlands East Indies KNIL troops, made an amphibious landing, codenamed Operation Oboe Two, a few miles north of Balikpapan. The Allied invasion fleet consisted of around 100 ships. The landing had been preceded by heavy bombing and shelling by Australian and US air and naval forces. The Allied force totalled 33,000 personnel and was commanded by Major General Edward Milford, while the Japanese force, commanded by Rear Admiral Michiaki Kamada, numbered between 8,400 and 10,000, of which between 3,100 and 3,900 were combatants. After the initial landing, the Allies secured the town and its port, and then advanced along the coast and into the hinterland, capturing the two Japanese airfields. Major combat operations concluded around 21 July, but were followed by mopping-up operations, which lasted until the end of the war in mid-August. Australian troops remained in the area until early 1946.
Persiba Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Balikpapan, Indonesia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is used as the home stadium for Persiba Balikpapan. The stadium has a capacity of 12,500 people after the 2008 renovation.

The Indiana Convention Center is a major convention center located in Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The original structure was completed in 1972 and has undergone five expansions. In total, there are 71 meeting rooms, 11 exhibit halls, and three multi-purpose ballrooms. The connected facilities of Lucas Oil Stadium offer an additional 183,000 square feet (20,000 m2) of exhibit space and 12 meeting rooms.
America's Center is a convention center located in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, and is situated next to the Dome at America's Center, the former home of the National Football League's St. Louis Rams and XFL's St. Louis BattleHawks. The Center and the Dome often combine to hold large events. The venue opened in 1977 as the Cervantes Convention Center, and has held many events over the years, including the Working Women's Survival Show, the All-Canada Show, the National Rifle Association Annual Meeting, the St. Louis Boat and Sports Show, and the triennial Urbana Christian missions conference.
The First Battle of Balikpapan took place on 23–25 January 1942, off the major oil producing town and port of Balikpapan, on Borneo, in the Netherlands East Indies. After capturing mostly destroyed oilfields at Tarakan, Japanese forces send an ultimatum to the Dutch that they will be executed if they destroy the oilfields there, to no avail. After destroying the oilfields, Dutch forces retreated inland, taking up positions in and around Samarinda II Airfield, while the Japanese landed and seized the also destroyed refineries. Shortly thereafter, an American naval task force arrived and ambushed the invasion convoy, sinking multiple transport ships but ultimately failing to stop Japan from swiftly occupying Balikpapan.

USS YMS-50 was a United States Navy YMS-1-class auxiliary motor minesweeper during World War II. Laid down on 16 July 1941 at Wheeler Shipbuilding Corp., Whitestone, Long Island, New York, she was launched on 6 June 1942 and commissioned on 3 August. Assigned to the South West Pacific Area she was damaged by a dive bomber while covering the landings during the battle of Arawe, New Britain on 17 December 1943. Later while covering the landings during the battle of Balikpapan, Borneo she struck a mine on 18 June 1945 at 01°18′S116°49′E and was scuttled by the light cruiser Denver.
Bekapai Park is a park situated in the city of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The park is located in the middle of the city, close to nearby shopping centers. There is a fountain made of stainless steel and a bronze sculpture in the middle of the park.

The tournament was held at the Balikpapan Sport & Convention Center in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia on 6 to 11 September 2016 and had a total purse of $120,000.
The St. Louis BattleHawks are a professional American football team based in St. Louis, Missouri. The team was founded by Vince McMahon’s Alpha Entertainment and is an owned-and-operated member of the new XFL owned by Dwayne Johnson’s Alpha Acquico.
