In the United States, a district attorney (DA), county attorney, state's attorney, prosecuting attorney,commonwealth's attorney, or state attorney is the chief prosecutor and/or chief law enforcement officer representing a U.S. state in a local government area, typically a county or a group of counties. The exact name and scope of the office varies by state. Alternative titles for the office include county attorney, solicitor, or county prosecutor.

Scott L. Rolle Is a Circuit Court Judge in Frederick County, Maryland. In a close election in late 2014, he was the first lawyer to defeat a sitting judge in Frederick County by way of election in modern history. From 1995-2007 Rolle was the State's Attorney for Frederick County, Maryland. He served three consecutive terms in that position. He is also an actor who co-starred on the television series Brad Meltzer's Decoded that was aired on the History Channel with 23 episodes spanning two seasons. He also landed a role on Lifetime Discovery Channel's "Twisted Fate", the independent films "Substance", "Money Matters" along with other film, television and stage acting credits. Rolle is also a lieutenant colonel in the US Army Reserves. He serves in the 2nd Legal Operations Detachment located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Rolle was deployed to Afghanistan from October 2018 through April 2019 serving as the USFOR-A Chief Investigator for Gross Violations of Human Rights. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he was awarded the Joint Commendation Medal with Combat "C" device, Nato non-article 5 medal, and the Afghanistan Campaign medal with bronze service star.
Davis R. Ruark is an American lawyer. From February, 1987 to January, 2011 Ruark served as the State’s Attorney for Wicomico County, Maryland. Currently, he serves as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the 12th Prosecutorial District of North Carolina. Prior to the appointment in North Carolina, Ruark served as Deputy District Attorney in the Twelfth District Attorney’s Office in New Mexico. He also served as a Deputy District Attorney in New Mexico’s 3rd District, supervising all of the felony attorneys. Before starting in the 3rd District, Ruark served as a Chief Deputy District Attorney in the Eddy County/Carlsbad District Attorney's Office in the 5th Judicial District of New Mexico. Ruark is a member of the Maryland, North Carolina and New Mexico State Bars. He is also a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. Ruark's father, Elmer F. Ruark served as Mayor of Salisbury, Maryland, from 1974-1982.

Kern County has since paid out 10 million dollars in settlements to the people wrongly convicted by Ed Jagels.

Ryan David Hatfield is an American attorney and politician serving as the State Representative for Indiana House District 77. Hatfield is the Assistant Democratic Whip for the Indiana House Democrats. He serves as Ranking Democrat of the Indiana House Judiciary Committee as well as the Indiana House Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee. Hatfield is also a member of the Indiana House Public Health Committee and the Indiana House Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications Committee.
