History
Founded in 1887, First the club played under the name of Maurice Davins. The first success came in 1913 as Baltinglass Shamrocks, they won the delayed 1912 Wicklow Junior title. 1927 saw a Wicklow Senior Hurling title. In 1934 a meeting was held to re-establish the football club.
A minor title in 1940 was followed by a Junior title in 1943 and with this it was promoted to Intermediate ranks. More minor titles were won 1952, 53, 54 & 55. The current pitch was bought in 1957, but was not officially opened until the 1980s. [1]
1958 saw Baltinglass win the Wicklow Senior title for the first time. Four titles in the sixties, four in the seventies, six in the eighties and five in the nineties. This included an eight in a row from 1987 to 1994. A Leinster title was won in 1989 and the All-Ireland in 1990. [2] [3] In total the club has won 23 Wicklow Senior Football titles the most recent in 2020.
The club has a main pitch with a covered seated stand and a training pitch, both of which are floodlit. [4]
Aughrim County Ground, known for sponsorship reasons as Echelon Park Aughrim, is a GAA stadium in Aughrim, County Wicklow, Ireland. Aughrim County Ground is the name of the home of Gaelic Games for County Wicklow team. The ground has a capacity of about 7,000. The name "O'Byrne Park" was occasionally used in the past, but this has never been the official name: this mistake that came about because of the Irish name for the local village of Aughrim, "Aughrim of the O'Byrnes". Also known locally as "The Pitch", or just "The Field".
The Wicklow County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) or Wicklow GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Wicklow. The county board is also responsible for the Wicklow county teams.
The Leinster Council is a provincial council of the Gaelic Athletic Association sports of hurling, Gaelic football, camogie, rounders and handball in the province of Leinster. The Leinster Council has been partnered with the European County Board to help develop Gaelic Games in Europe. Leinster Council's main contribution to this goal is the provision of referees.
Baltinglass, historically known as Baltinglas, is a town in south-west County Wicklow, Ireland. It is located on the River Slaney near the border with County Carlow and County Kildare, on the N81 road.
Castledermot GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in Castledermot, County Kildare, Ireland, winner of three senior hurling championships, first winners of the intermediate football and senior camogie championships, Kildare Club of the year in 2004 and home club of All Ireland football finalist of 1935 Pat Byrne, who played for the club 1925-1942. Jimmy Curran was goalkeeper on the Kildare hurling team of the millennium.

The Wicklow Senior Hurling Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition organised since 1903 by Wicklow GAA among the top hurling clubs in County Wicklow, Ireland. The winner qualifies to represent the county in the Leinster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship, the winner of which progresses to the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship.
The Wicklow Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition organised by Wicklow GAA between the top Gaelic football clubs in County Wicklow, Ireland. The winner of the Wicklow Championship qualifies to represent their county in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship, the winner of which progresses to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. The current (2022) champions are St. Patrick's, who defeated Baltinglass by 1-10 to 1-08 on October 9th 2022 at the county grounds in Aughrim.
Thomas Davis is a Gaelic Athletic Association club with extensive grounds and a clubhouse located on the Kiltipper Road in Tallaght, County Dublin, Ireland. Founded in 1888, Thomas Davis has a long association with Tallaght from the time when it was a small rural village in the countryside. The club motto is Nascann Dúshlán Daoine .

Leighton Glynn is a Gaelic football and hurling player from County Wicklow in Ireland. He was born and raised in Glenealy, County Wicklow. He has represented the Wicklow senior GAA teams in both football and hurling. At club level, he plays hurling for Glenealy and football for Rathnew.
Kevin O'Brien is a former Gaelic footballer from Baltinglass, County Wicklow. O'Brien was part of the great Baltinglass team that dominated Wicklow football in the 80's and 90's, winning an All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship Title in 1990. He is also the only Wicklow recipient of an All Star having won one in 1990 at Full Forward. He won a Railway Cup medal with Leinster in 1986, before he had even played for his county and added a second in 1990. He also represented the Irish International Rules team in 1990 in the success over Australia and again in the 1998 Series. He was also part of the Wicklow team that won the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship Title in 2002. He was inducted in the GAA's Hall of Fame in 2010 and is one of the youngest recipients of the accolade. He received his award at the 2010 Leinster final.
James Hatton was an Irish Gaelic footballer, hurler and referee. He played at club level with Kilcoole and was a dual player with the Wicklow senior teams. Hatton also served as a referee at club and inter-county levels.
