The Special Province of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta is a provincial-level autonomous region of Indonesia in southern Java.

It has an area of 164.55 km2 (63.53 sq mi) and an official 2010 Census population of 1,798,601, which had risen to 1,895,486 at the 2020 Census. – making it the eighth most populated suburb in the world at the latter date; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 1,930,556. It has not only functioned as a dormitory city, as there are many industrial areas such as Jatake, and several business districts, including CBD Alam Sutera in the area. Located just next to Jakarta on the west with many road access and improved infrastructure, such as new toll road, it is one of the favorite location for property seekers and investors in the Bodetabek area.
Cilegon is a major coastal industrial city in Banten province, Indonesia, covering 162.51 km2 (62.75 sq mi). It is located on the island of Java. The city had a population of 374,464 at the 2010 Census and 434,896 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 450,271.
Tegal is a city in the northwest part of Central Java of Indonesia. It is situated on the north coast of the province of Central Java, about 175 kilometres (109 mi) from Semarang, the capital of the province. It had a population of 239,599 at the 2010 Census and 273,825 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2022 was 290,988. Its built-up area made up of Tegal Municipality and 12 districts spread over Tegal and Brebes Regencies was home to 1,366,858 inhabitants as at the 2010 census. It is administratively separate from Tegal Regency, which borders it to the south and east; Brebes Regency borders it to the west.
Nusa Kambangan island is located in Indonesia, separated by a narrow strait from the south coast of Java. The closest port is Cilacap in Central Java province. It is known as the place where the fabled wijayakusuma, which translates as the 'flower of victory' in the highest literary register of the Javanese language, grows. The wijayakusuma can be used to bring a person back from the dead, and the princes of the Sultanate of Mataram and later the Surakarta Sunanate sent to the island for the blooms in order to become kings. Thus the island is also known as pulau bunga-bungaan, the 'island of many flowers'. There is a forest reserve on the island. One of the main cultural events is Sedekah Laut, which is held by the Surakarta Sunanate every Satu Suro in the Javanese calendar. Since the Dutch colonial period, there have been a number of supermax prisons on the island, some of which are still operational and run by Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia.
Madiun is a landlocked city in the western part of East Java, Indonesia, known for its agricultural center. It was formerly the capital of the Madiun Regency, but is now administratively separated from the regency. Madiun is commonly known as "Kota Gadis", which is an acronym for "Trading, Education and Industrial City" in Indonesian and sometimes known as Milaan van Java in Dutch language.

In addition, the Aceh province officially enforces Sharia law and is notorious for its oppressive practices towards religious and sexual minorities. There are also pro-Sharia and fundamentalist movements in several parts of the country with overwhelming Muslim majorities.
Batujaya is an archeological site located in the village of Batujaya, Karawang in West Java, Indonesia. Archaeologists suggest that the Batujaya temples might be the oldest surviving temple structures in Java and estimated that it was built during the time of the Tarumanegara kingdom circa 5th to 6th century CE.

This rare fall of a LL6 chondrite included an 11.5 kg TKW that is held by the Bandung Geological Museum and the Paris Museum of History. The museum has 13 meteorites that fell at various times on in areas of Java.
The Grand Mosque of Bandung, previously known as the Great Mosque of Bandung, is a mosque in Bandung, the provincial capital of West Java, Indonesia. The mosque received the status of provincial mosque of West Java Province in 2004. It is located on the east side of the alun-alun of Bandung.
Pasupati Bridge or Pasupati Overpass is a bridge that connects the north and east of Bandung through the Cikapundung valley. It has a length of 2.8 km and a width of 30–60 m. The road is built over Jalan Pasteur, which is a long street flanked by the palm trees that characterize the city of Bandung. The bridge and overpass are known for their colorful display, particularly at night, which has become emblematic of Bandung as a whole. The overpass and bridge connect to the main Cipularang Toll Road from Jakarta, and have greatly improved the traffic flow from the Greater Jakarta area into Bandung. Under the bridge, there is a park named Pasupati Park.
Karawang International Industrial City (KIIC) is an industrial estate at Karawang Regency, West Java, which is located about 30 km south of Jakarta, Indonesia. It is a joint venture between Sinar Mas Land and ITOCHU Corporation of Japan. It has land area of about 1400 hectares and contains a various local and multinational corporations. KIIC is the first industrial estate in Indonesia to be granted ISO 9001:2000 certificate, ISO 14001:2004 for Quality & Environmental Management System in 2002 and OHSAS 18002:2007 certificate for Health & Safety Management Systems.
