Banda Agency is a Ukrainian creative agency founded by Yegor Petrov, [1] Pasha Vrzheshch [2] and Yaroslav Serdyuk [3] [4] in September 2011. Banda is known for its projects of Ukrainian brands Ukraine NOW [5] and Be Brave Like Ukraine, the development of brands for Eurovision Song Contest 2017 and Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. [6] The agency's work has received D&AD, Red Dot and Epica Awards.
One of the most successful projects of the Banda Agency is the branding of the Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Kyiv in 2017. [4] Specialists of the agency together with the design studio Republique has developed a unique symbolism, based on the visual image of a traditional Ukrainian necklace. For this work, the team received the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. [4]
In 2018, Banda Agency developed the first branding for Ukraine in 27 years of independence. [4] The brand was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers at a meeting on May 10. [5] Ukraine NOW brand images are used as part of the “One Voice” strategy. In particular, on the Facebook cover, branding is used by the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, the government portal, the office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration. [5] For the development of branding for Ukraine, Banda Agency received an award at the Red Dot Design Award 2018 design competition in the Corporate Identity category. [5]
In 2021, the agency developed the branding of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, with the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the State Agency for the Management of the Exclusion Zone and the State Tourism Development Agency. [6] The “disappearing” logo is based on the shape of the reactor surface, as the starting point for the existence of the logo. [6] And every year the image changes and gradually disappears. The end point of the existence of the logo is 2064, when the Chernobyl Power Plant will be completely decommissioned. [6]
In 2022, during Russian invasion of Ukraine, Banda Agency developed the communication campaign Be Brave Like Ukraine, [7] together with the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, the Ministry of Digital Transformation. [8] The campaign is designed to highlight the main feature of Ukrainians. Dozens of Ukrainian brands and companies joined the project. Meanwhile, billboards Be brave Like Ukraine can already be seen on the streets of Canada, Poland, Germany, Italy, Austria, the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States and other countries. [9]

Vasylkiv maiolica rooster is a replicated decorative piece produced by the maiolica factory in Vasylkiv, created by Valerii Protoriev and Nadiia Protorieva. It became a symbol of resilience during the Russian invasion of Ukraine (2022) after a photo of one of the houses in Borodianka went viral: despite the flat being almost completely destroyed, a kitchen cabinet on the wall survived. Upon closer inspection, a decorative maiolica rooster was noticed on top of it.
