Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University, Naogaon is a public university in Naogaon District. It is the second general university in Rajshahi Division after University of Rajshahi. The university was established by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University, Naogaon act 2023 in National Parliament. [1] [2]

Sayed Farooq Rahman was the chief organizer involved in toppling the Sheikh Mujib regime in Bangladesh. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Mohiuddin Ahmed, and Mohammad Bazlul Huda in Dhaka Central Jail, Old Dhaka, for the murder of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding leader and the first president of Bangladesh. Sayed Farooq Rahman and his close ally Khondaker Abdur Rashid were the chief organisers of the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 15 August 1975. He was 2IC of the 1st Bengal Lancers Regiment of the Bangladesh Army who led a group of junior army officers in order to overthrow the regime of Sheikh Mujib and install Khondaker Mushtaque Ahmed as president of Bangladesh.

The 7th March Speech of Bangabandhu, or the 7/3 Speech, was a public speech given by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding leader of Bangladesh on 7 March 1971 at the Ramna Race Course in Dhaka to a gathering of over one million (1,000,000) people. It was delivered during a period of escalating tensions between East Pakistan and the powerful political and military establishment of West Pakistan. In the speech, Bangabandhu informally declared the independence of Bangladesh, proclaiming: "The struggle this time, is a struggle for our liberty. The struggle this time, is a struggle for our independence." He announced a civil disobedience movement in the province, calling for "every house to turn into a fortress".

Bangladesh Maritime University (BMU) (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ মেরিটাইম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) was established in 2013, the 37th public university of the country. It is the first maritime university in Bangladesh, the 3rd maritime university in South Asia and the 12th maritime university in the world. It has issued its first calls for admission in December, 2016. The BSc in Oceanography program was started on 3 January 2017 at the university's temporary campus in Mirpur, as part of the first-ever launch of the Bachelor class in the university. Then in 2018, the first batch of BSc in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering classes started. Two more program classes started in 2019. LLB in Maritime Law and BBA in Port Management and Logistics. 2020 BSc in Maritime Fisheries first batch admission and classes start.

The non-cooperation movement of 1971 was a historical movement in then East Pakistan by the Awami League and the general public against the military government of Pakistan in March of that year. After the announcement of the suspension of the session of the National Assembly of Pakistan on 1 March, the spontaneous movement of the people started, but officially on the call of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the non-cooperation movement started on 2 March and continued until 25 March. The movement lasted for a total of 25 days.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University, Kishoreganj is a government financed public university located in the town of Kishoreganj in Bangladesh. Qaisuddin was a Bangladeshi academic, researcher and chemist. He has served as the Vice Chancellor of two universities in Bangladesh, Islamic University, Bangladesh and Bangladesh Open University. He was the 5th Vice Chancellor of the Islamic University. He was a professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Rajshahi University. He was first academician of Bangladesh who act as vice-chancellor two university serially.

Jatir Pita Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Narayanganj (BSMRSTU) is a public university under the authority of the Government of Bangladesh. The Ministry of Education of Bangladesh provided the approval for its establishment on December 9, 2020.
