Bangkok Noi District Museum is a museum in Bangkok, Thailand. It is located on the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya River near the Bangkok Noi canal. It was established by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. Historically the area was a rest stop for foreign traders travelling by canal between Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Bangkok. [1]

Khlong Bangkok Yai is a historic khlong of Bangkok. Originally it was part of the Chao Phraya River. In the past, the course of the Chao Phraya was longer than in the present. Those who travel by boat must cruise along the river, which took more than one day, until the reign of King Chairachathirat (1534–46) of the Ayutthaya Kingdom who ordered the construction of a canal bypassing a loop of the Chao Phraya River, known as Khlong Lat Bangkok, thus reducing travel times and changing the course of the Chao Phraya, which now flows along the new canal. The old course became what is known today as Khlong Bangkok Yai and Khlong Bangkok Noi.

So Heng Tai Mansion

The So Heng Tai Mansion is a nineteenth-century Chinese courtyard house in the historic neighbourhood of Talat Noi in Bangkok. It was built by Phra Aphaiwanit, a Hokkien Chinese bird's nest tax farmer who joined the nobility under King Rama III. The house has continuously been inhabited by his descendants, who now form the Poshyachinda family. It is one of the last remaining traditional Chinese houses in Bangkok. Today, it also operates as a diving school, a pool having been built in the courtyard in 2004. The house has at times been opened to the public, especially since 2014 when the Talat Noi area was promoted as a cultural tourism destination. Multiple organizations have offered assistance in its restoration, though lack of government support has largely left maintenance of the house to the family's own expense.
