Thammasat University is a public research university in Thailand with campuses in Tha Phra Chan, Rangsit, Pattaya and Lampang Province. As of 2019, Thammasat University has over 33,000 students enrolled in 33 faculties, colleges, institutes and 2,700 academic staff.
Education in Thailand is provided mainly by the Thai government through the Ministry of Education from pre-school to senior high school. A free basic education of fifteen years is guaranteed by the Thai constitution.
Mahanakorn University of Technology is a university in Thailand. The university was established on February 27, 1990 at Nong Chok District, Bangkok. as Mahanakorn College by Prof. Dr. Sitthichai Pookaiyaudom, former Dean of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. The objective was to train engineering students in response to the severe shortage of engineers. MUT was then promoted to full university status under the new name Mahanakorn University of Technology .It is the first and still the only university in the country that operates its own low-orbit microsatellite (TMSAT).
Mahidol University (Mahidol), an autonomous research institution in Thailand, had its origin in the establishment of Siriraj Hospital in 1888. Mahidol had an acceptance rate for Medicine of 0.4% as of the 2016 academic year. Becoming the University of Medical Science in 1943, it has been recognized as the country's fourth public university. The university was later renamed in 1969 by King Bhumibol Adulyadej after his father, Prince Mahidol of Songkhla, the "Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health of Thailand". The university originally focused on health sciences but expanded to other fields in recent decades. It hosted Thailand's first medical school, the Siriraj Medical School. Today, Mahidol offers a range of graduate and undergraduate programs from natural sciences to liberal arts with remote campuses in Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Sawan, and Amnat Charoen provinces. There are a total of 629 programs offered from 17 faculties, 6 colleges, 9 research institutions and 6 campuses. In terms of fiscal budget and portion of budget spent on research programs, the university receives the highest budget of any public university in Thailand: $430 million in 2019, most of which is granted for graduate research programs. Mahidol University was ranked Thailand's #1 university in 2011 by QS Asian University Rankings.

Naresuan University (NU) is a government university in Phitsanulok Province, northern Thailand. It was established as a separate university on 29 July 1990, the 400th anniversary of the start of the reign of Phitsanulok-born King Naresuan the Great. A courtyard with a statue of King Naresuan is on the campus grounds and students regularly pay their respects before it. The university has about 20,000 full-time students.
Mahasarakham University (MSU) (Thai: มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม; RTGS: maha witthayalai mahasarakham), pronounced: má-hăa wít-tá-yaa-lai má-hăa-săa-rá-kaam) is a Thai public university in Maha Sarakham province, about 470 kilometres from Bangkok. In 2017 it enrolled 39,000 students.
Burapha University (BUU) (Thai: มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา) is one of Thailand's public universities. It is in the coastal town of Saen Suk, near the beach of Bangsaen in Chonburi province. It was established on 8 July 1955, originating from Bangsaen Educational College which was the first regional tertiary educational institute. The university offers degrees in more than 50 programs of study, including 75 master's programs, three EdD programs, and 22 PhD programs.
Asia-Pacific International University is a private Christian university located in Saraburi, Thailand. Its main campus is in the rural town of Muak Lek, Saraburi Province and the nursing school is located on the grounds of Bangkok Adventist Hospital in downtown Bangkok. It is the only tertiary education institution serving the Southeast Asia Union Mission of Seventh-day Adventists. Asia-Pacific International University was formerly called Mission College until mid-2009 when it was granted university status. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system.
Srinakharinwirot University is a public university in Bangkok, Thailand. Founded in 1949, the university was the first upper-education institution to concentrate solely on teacher training. The name "Srinakharinwirot" was given by King Bhumibol Adulyadej to honour his Mother Princess Srinagarindra. Srinakharinwirot University has two campuses; Prasarnmit Campus in Bangkok's Watthana district and Ongkharak Campus in Nakhon Nayok province's Ongkharak district. Other minor campuses include Bhodivijjalaya College’s campuses in Sa Kaeo province and Chiang Mai province’s Mae Chaem district.

Webster University Thailand (WUT) is an international campus of Webster University from Webster Groves, Missouri, US. The US-based non-profit university established its international campus in Thailand in 1999 with an undergraduate campus near the resort town of Hua Hin in the district of Cha-am, and additional graduate and undergraduate programs in Bangkok, Thailand. The facility in Thailand is one of several international campuses associated with Webster University. The Rector of the Thailand campus is Dr. Ryan V. Guffey. The campus officially closed on December 31, 2021.

Thonburi University, previously named Thonburi College of Technology is located at 248 Phetkasem 110 Nongkhaengphlu, Nong Khaem District, Bangkok, Thailand. It was founded in 1998 in memory of Supachai Yamchuti, the founder of Mubankru Technological College. Mubankru Technological College was established in 1969 for offering a Diploma in Vocational Education (Por-Wor-Sor) program and is located on the same street as Thonburi University. The organisation structure body and the administration system of Thonburi University and Mubankru School were coordinated within a short period of time. Mubankru School of Technology became a prominent school then Ajarn Supachai Yamchuti wished to extend the educational branches of Mubankru. Gradually a branch of Mubankru was established in Lamphun Province in the northern part of Thailand. Ajarn Supachai aimed to further establish the foundation for higher education. With this aim in mind, Thonburi University was set up, with the main objective of imparting higher educational degree programs. Now the University has bachelor's degree Programs as well as master's degree Programs.
