Shibu Soren is an Indian politician who is currently member of Rajya Sabha representing Jharkhand and the leader of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. He formerly served as 3rd Chief Minister of Jharkhand,first in 2005 for 10 days,then from 2008 to 2009 and again from 2009 to 2010. He is also the President of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) political party,a constituent of the INDIA Alliance. He was the member of Lok Sabha from Dumka from 1980 to 1984,1989 to 1998 and from 2002 to 2019 and Minister for Coal in the Union Cabinet from 2004 to 2004,2004 to 2005 and from 2006 to 2006,when a Delhi district court found him guilty in the murder of his private secretary Shashi Nath Jha in 1994. Haji Hussain Ansari was an Indian politician and a leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). He served as Minister of Minority Welfare and Registration Department in the Government of Jharkhand since 28 January 2020. Ansari was the first and only Muslim to become minister in the state of Jharkhand. He was elected to the Jharkhand Assembly on the JMM ticket four times from Madhupur Assembly constituency in 1995,2000,2009 and 2019 respectively. He also acted as the leader of the opposition in 2004.

Dhalbhumgarh Airport is a proposed domestic airport,which will serve the city of Jamshedpur,Jharkhand,India. It will be built on a former World War II era airfield in Dhalbhumgarh in East Singhbhum district,about 60 km (37 mi) from Jamshedpur. The Government of Jharkhand and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of the airport on 24 January 2019. Under the MoU,a joint venture company would be set up to construct the airport. The project was initially expected to be completed by December 2020.

The 2024 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election was held in three phases from 13 to 20 November 2024 to elect all 81 members of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. The counting of votes was done on 24 November 2024. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 34 seats,securing 23.44% of the popular vote and Mahagathbandhan won 56 seats,securing 44.37% of the popular vote. The Bharatiya Janata Party secured the highest share of the popular vote with 33.18% of the total votes.
