Barbara Kuit is a Dutch architect. In 1998, together with her partner Mark Hemel, Kuit founded Information Based Architecture (IBA). [1]
IBA designed the world’s tallest TV tower,[ citation needed ] the Canton Tower, formerly known as the Guangzhou TV & Sightseeing Tower in Guangzhou, China (completed in 2010).
Kuit was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Before founding IBA, she worked for several years at the office of Zaha Hadid Architects. There she worked on various projects including the MAXXI – National Museum of the 21st Century Arts in Rome, Millennium Dome in London and Science Center in Wolfsburg.[ citation needed ] Before that she worked at Harper Mackay in London, as a local architect on various projects of Philippe Starck, St Martin’s Lane Hotel and Sanderson Hotel in London.[ citation needed ]

Kuit is working on a book titled Supermodel, the making of the world's tallest TV tower, which will come out in the early months of 2011.

Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid was an Iraqi-British architect, artist and designer, recognized as a major figure in architecture of the late-20th and early-21st centuries. Born in Baghdad, Iraq, Hadid studied mathematics as an undergraduate and then enrolled at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in 1972. In search of an alternative system to traditional architectural drawing, and influenced by Suprematism and the Russian avant-garde, Hadid adopted painting as a design tool and abstraction as an investigative principle to "reinvestigate the aborted and untested experiments of Modernism [...] to unveil new fields of building".

The Canton Tower, formally Guangzhou TV Astronomical and Sightseeing Tower, is a 604-meter (1,982 ft)-tall multipurpose observation tower in the Haizhu District of Guangzhou. The tower was topped out in 2009 and it became operational on 29 September 2010 for the 2010 Asian Games. The tower briefly held the title of tallest tower in the world, replacing the CN Tower, before being surpassed by the Tokyo Skytree. It was the tallest structure in China prior to the topping out of the Shanghai Tower on 3 August 2013, and is now the second-tallest tower and the fifth-tallest freestanding structure in the world.

Generali Tower is a skyscraper completed in 2017 in Milan, Italy that reaches a height of 191.5 m (628 ft) with 44 floors, and a total floor area of about 67,000 square metres (720,000 sq ft). Its designer is the Anglo-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, hence it is also called torre Hadid. The geometry of the building is that of a warping shape, where both the floors dimension and their orientation vary along the tower axis.

Leeza SOHO, also known as Li Ze Tower, is a 207 m (679 ft) tall commercial skyscraper located in the Lize Financial Business District in Beijing, China. SOHO China acquired land use rights in 2013 for ¥1.922 billion RMB. The construction of the building began in 2015 and it was opened on 19 November 2019, making it the third of three buildings designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and developed by SOHO China, along with Galaxy SOHO and Wangjing SOHO.

Morpheus is a neo-futurist luxury hotel in Macau, Special administrative regions of China that is operated by Melco Resorts & Entertainment. Opened in June 2018, TIME describes it as "the world’s first free-form exoskeleton-bound high-rise: a grid of steel envelops 40 stories of glass with a fluidity inspired by Chinese jade carving." The interior has a gaming floor, a rooftop pool, a modern-art gallery, and restaurants by chefs such as Alain Ducasse. The hotel tops out at 160 meters tall.
