Bart De Roover (born 21 August 1967 in Belgium) is a Belgian retired footballer who now works as head coach of K. Lyra-Lierse Berlaar in his home country. [6]
De Roover started his senior career with K.F.C. Zwarte Leeuw. After that, he played for K.S.C. Lokeren Oost-Vlaanderen, K.A.A. Gent, and Lierse S.K. In 1997, he signed for NAC Breda in the Dutch Eredivisie, where he made twenty-one league appearances and scored one goal. [7]

Koninklijke Lierse Sportkring, often simply known as Lierse, was a Belgian professional football club from the city of Lier in the Antwerp province. Lierse have won four championship titles and two Belgian Cups. Lierse was one of the six Belgian clubs to have played in the UEFA Champions League group stage, the others being Anderlecht, Club Brugge, Genk, Standard Liège and KAA Gent.
Koninklijke Sporting Club Lokeren Oost-Vlaanderen was a Belgian professional football club based in the city of Lokeren, in the province of East Flanders. The club was founded in 1923 but ceased to exist in 2020 after going bankrupt. A few days after the bankruptcy, the club announced that rather than dissolving entirely, it would merge with KSV Temse to form Lokeren-Temse, starting in the Belgian Second Amateur Division.

The 2006–07 season of the Belgian First Division began on July 28, 2006, and concluded on May 19, 2007. The championship was decided in the penultimate round on May 12, 2007, when Anderlecht moved five points clear of runners-up Genk to retain the title and win their 29th League Championship. At the other end of the table, the struggle to avoid automatic relegation went on until the final round, and it was Lierse who eventually prevailed. Having spent the entire season at the bottom of the standings and only just managing to close an eleven-point gap up to 17th, the Lier side won their last game to climb past Beveren and send the latter down to the Second Division. However, Lierse went on to lose the playoffs and was relegated anyway.

K Lierse SK entered the 1960–61 European Champion Clubs' Cup as Belgian title holder and RU Saint-Gilloise entered the 1960–61 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. The Belgium national football team started their 1978 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign with two victories over Iceland and Northern Ireland and a defeat against the Netherlands. The Belgian Women's First Division was won by Standard Fémina de Liège for the 3rd time. The first Belgian Women's Cup was organised, and won by Astrio Begijnendijk against Standard Fémina de Liège.

Frédéric Frans is a retired Belgian professional football player who last played as a defender for Beerschot. He spent eight years with Lierse until his move to Scottish Premiership side Partick Thistle in 2014. After two years at the Glasgow club, Frans returned to Lierse in June 2016. He then returned to Scottish football in 2018, signing for Dundee United. He left the club in 2019 and returned to Belgium following the collapse of the original Lierse. He then signed for Beerschot in the Belgian First Division B. Frans has also represented Belgium at youth level.

KFC Zwarte Leeuw is a Belgian football club from Rijkevorsel. The club was founded on April 25 1926 and is affiliated to the Royal Belgian Football Association with base number 1124. The club's club colours are yellow-black. Until the 1974/75 season, Black Lion played in the Provincial Divisions. Since then, with the exception of three seasons in the First Provincial Divison, the club has played in the national series, culminating in four seasons in the Second Division, between 1989 and 1994.
