Baseer Ahmad Khan is a Jammu &Kashmir Administrative Service officer and inducted to Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 2000. On the 15th March 2020,he was appointed as an Advisor to Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir G. C. Murmu in 2020 and Continued to Manoj Sinha. [1] Before advisor he served as a Divisional Commissioner (Kashmir). [2]
In 2009,when he was Deputy Commissioner,Baramulla,he was an accused in the Gulmarg Land Scam. [3] Khan was Deputy Commissioner Srinagar district between December 2011 and March 2013. [4] He was Divisional Commissioner,Kashmir,when he attained the age of superannuation on 30 June 2019;however the government extended his service by a year,but before his term was due to end,he was made the fourth advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir,G. C. Murmu in March 2020. [5] [6] [7] As advisor he manages the portfolios of "Power development Department,Rural Development and Panchayati Raj,Culture,Tourism and Floriculture " among other things. Srinagar is a city in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir in the disputed Kashmir region. It is the largest city and summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir,which is an Indian-administered union territory. It lies in the Kashmir Valley along the banks of the Jhelum River,and the shores of Dal Lake and Anchar Lakes,between the Hari Parbat and Shankaracharya hills. Vappala Pangunni Menon was an Indian civil servant who served as Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of the States,under Sardar Patel. By appointment from Viceroy and Governor-General of India Wavell,he also served as Secretary to the Governor-General (Public) and later as Secretary to the Cabinet. He also was the Constitutional Adviser and Political Reforms Commissioner to the last three successive Viceroys during British rule in India. In May 1948,at the initiative of V. P. Menon,a meeting was held in Delhi between the Rajpramukhs of the princely unions and the States Department,at the end of which the Rajpramukhs signed new Instruments of Accession which gave the Government of India the power to pass laws in respect of all matters that fell within the seventh schedule of the Government of India Act 1935.
Manoj Sinha is an Indian politician serving as the 2nd and the current Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. He served as the Minister of State for Communications and Minister of State for Railways in the Government of India. Sinha was elected as Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha,representing Ghazipur for three terms from the Bharatiya Janata Party. Sinha was in the race for the post of UP Chief Minister after 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.
Amitabh Mattoo is one of India's leading thinkers and writers on Modern and Contemporary History,Political science,International relations. He was awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2009. He is a professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University and honorary professor of international relations at the University of Melbourne. Until 19 June 2018,he served as Advisor to the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir,with the status of a Cabinet Minister. Mattoo is a member of the Academic Advisory Board of the German Institute for Global and Area Studies and was recently elected unanimously as its Deputy Chair. He was the founding CEO of the Australia India Institute at the University of Melbourne and served as chairman of the governing board of Miranda House,University of Delhi,the highest-ranked women's college in India,and served as Chair of Kirori Mal College earlier He has also been a member of the Lancet Commission on Adolescent Health and Wellbeing. In 2002,he was the youngest person to be appointed as vice chancellor of a public university in independent India. Mattoo's advice on policy matters has been sought across political parties and across governments,including by Prime Ministers Atal Behari Vajpayee and Dr Manmohan Singh. Following the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution of India,he has offered a political roadmap for securing the future of Jammu and Kashmir. He has been a persistent advocate of multiculturalism and of reconciliation between Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiri Muslims.
Narinder Nath Vohra,popularly referred as N. N. Vohra,is a retired 1959 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Punjab cadre who was the 12th governor of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. He was the first civilian governor of Jammu and Kashmir in eighteen years after Jagmohan.
Sardar Farooq Khan is an Indian politician and former police officer who served with the Indian Police Service (IPS). He retired in 2013 as Inspector General of Police (IGP),Jammu and head of the Sher-I-Kashmir Police Academy at Udhampur. Khan is known for the creation of the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) Special Task Force (STF) as well as being its first head in 1995;STF would later go on to be renamed as the Special Operations Group (SOG).

Hardu-Aboora is a locality in Karhama tehsil in Baramulla district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated on the banks of Ferozpora Nallah,at the foothills of the mountain range that runs parallel to the Srinagar-Gulmarg highway on its left side,some 15 km (9.3 mi) from Tangmarg town,Baramulla and 29 km (18 mi) from the state capital,Srinagar,and 10 km (6.2 mi) from railway station Mazhama. Under new Administrative units,Hardu Aboora was granted CD Block status,under the jurisdiction of newly carved tehsil,Karhama.

Shah Faesal is an Indian bureaucrat currently posted as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Culture (India) In 2010,he became the first Kashmiri to top the Indian Civil Services Examination. He tendered his resignation from the Indian bureaucracy in protest on 9 January 2019,citing "unabated killings" in Kashmir among other things,which,reportedly,was "never accepted" by the central government and he even withdrew the same later.

Girish Chandra Murmu is the 14th Comptroller and Auditor General of India and the external auditor of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. He is also the chairman of the United Nations Panel of External Auditors and the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions. He is currently the external auditor of the WHO (2020-2023),succeeding the Auditor General of the Philippines. He was the Inaugural Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir till 6 August 2020. He is a retired 1985 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre and was principal secretary to Narendra Modi during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Popular sports in Jammu and Kashmir include cricket,football and winter sports along with sports like golf,water sports,Ice stock sport and adventure sports. The National Winter Games have been held in Gulmarg in 1996,2004 and 2009. The first Khelo India Winter Games were held in February and March 2020 in Leh and Gulmarg. Jammu and Kashmir won the most gold medals while the Indian Army team came second with 8 gold medals. The second edition of the winter games were also held successfully in Gulmarg in 2020 with Jammu and Kashmir coming first and Karnataka second.
Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission widely known as JKPSC,is a constitutional body formed by the Government of India under articles 128 and 133 which conducts the civil services examination for appointment to various civil services in the Indian administered union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The JKPSC,autonomous body select the officers for various key positions in state civil services according to the merits of the candidates and the rules of reservation.

Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar is a retired Indian Police Service-1983 batch officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. Served in different capacities in the various state and central law enforcement organisations,Bhatnagar received the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service on 15 August 2007. He served as the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in his last tenure of service till his retirement on 31 December 2019. He was appointed an advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir G. C. Murmu by the Government of India in January 2020.
Kewal Kumar Sharma is a 1983-batch retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Arunachal Pradesh,Goa,Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre. In November 2018,he was appointed as advisor to the governor of Jammu and Kashmir,Satya Pal Malik. Following the creation of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir,he was appointed advisor to lieutenant governors Girish Chandra Murmu and Manoj Sinha. In February 2020,he was appointed as the chairperson of the JK Board of Technical Education. On October 30,2020 he resigned as advisor to the lieutenant governor and was appointed election commissioner of the union territory. Sharma has also served as advisor to the administrator od Chandigarh,chief secretary of Goa and Delhi after which he moved to the Union HRD Ministry where he served as Secretary Higher Education,Govt. of India.
