Bazaart is an AI-powered design platform with image and video editing capabilities for iOS, Android, MacOS, and the web. [1] [2]

History

Bazaart was founded in 2012 in Israel. [2] In April 2012, Bazaart launched a Facebook app called Pinvolve, which converts Facebook Pages into Pinterest pinboards. [3] From June to August 2012, it participated in the DreamIt startup accelerator in New York and raised $25,000 from the accelerator. [4] [5]

In July 2012, it launched its first version as an iPad app connected to Pinterest. [6] [7] [8] [9]

In December 2013, it pivoted and launched a major version of its app, a "social" photoshop that allowed users to edit images which could be pulled in from the camera roll, social networks, and other sources. [10] [11]

In July 2014, Bazaart reached one million downloads [12] and in December was selected by Apple as Best of 2014. [13]

In 2015, Bazaart added Photoshop integration in a partnership with Adobe. [14] [15] In September 2020, Bazaart launched an Android app. [16] In December 2020, Bazaart was selected by Google as Best of 2020. [17] [18]

In January 2022, Bazaart added video editing capabilities. [19]

In 2023, the platform added AI-powered backgrounds [20] and video background removal features. [21]

Founded in 2003 by programmer and photographer Jon Oringer, Shutterstock maintains a library of around 200 million royalty-free stock photos, vector graphics, and illustrations, with around 10 million video clips and music tracks available for licensing. Originally a subscription site only, Shutterstock expanded beyond subscriptions into a la carte pricing in 2008. It has been publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange since 2012.

Google I/O, or simply I/O, is an annual developer conference held by Google in Mountain View, California. The name "I/O" is taken from the number googol, with the "I" representing the "1" in googol and the "O" representing the first "0" in the number. Aviary was a photo-editing platform for iOS, Android, Windows, and the web. Aviary powered numerous mobile applications, including its self-titled iOS and Android apps, and a Windows app called Photo Editor. It contained a large collection of easy-to-use editing tools such as custom photo filters, frames, graphics, and overlays. The Aviary platform also had a free SDK that provided developers with a customizable photo editor that could be embedded into apps on iOS, Android, Windows, OS X, and the web. The company was founded by Avi Muchnick, Israel Derdik and Michael Galpert in 2007 with the goal of providing professional-quality photo-editing tools to the general public. In 2009 and 2012, Aviary received millions of dollars in funding from investors such as Spark Capital and Jeff Bezos.

The site was created by Ben Silbermann, Paul Sciarra, and Evan Sharp; it had 463 million global monthly active users as of April 2023. It is operated by Pinterest, Inc., based in San Francisco.

Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. It was announced in May 2015 and spun off from Google+, the company's former social network.

Affinity Photo is a raster graphics editor developed by Serif Ltd. for iOS, macOS, and Windows, alongside Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher. It is a successor to PhotoPlus which Serif discontinued in 2017.

Picsart is an Armenian-American technology company based in Miami, Florida and Yerevan, Armenia that develops the Picsart suite of online photo and video editing applications, with a social creative community. The platform allows users to take and edit pictures and videos, draw with layers, and share the images on Picsart and other social networks. It is one of the world's most popular apps, with reportedly more than 1 billion downloads across 180 countries.
