Beachwood Canyon is the third studio album by Jem, released 5 August 2016. [1] [2]
In January 2015, it was announced that the album would be released within the year; it was not. In January 2016, Jem published on her Facebook page the first photoshoots of the Beachwood Canyon era and announced the official release of the album for spring 2016. [3]
On Beachwood Canyon, Jem showcases her production skills, with the album looking to yesteryear for inspiration, and especially to the sounds of Simon & Garfunkel, The Byrds and the Beatles. The album's roots and title were established when Jem lived in LA’s renowned Beachwood Canyon – famed for being the winding road that leads to the Hollywood Sign. The majority of the album was recorded at the legendary Grandmaster Studios in Hollywood, where Stevie Wonder, wrote his seminal Songs in the Key of Life record.
For the lead single, "Beachwood Canyon", Jem released lyric videos which featured the lyrics written in 13 different languages, including Welsh, German and Japanese. [4]
The first, and only, single, "Beachwood Canyon", was released on 1 July.

Two of their albums, Comatose and Awake, are certified Platinum and Double Platinum respectively by the RIAA, while Rise and Unleashed are certified Gold as of June 29, 2020. Silverstein is a Canadian rock band from Burlington, Ontario, formed in 2000. Their band name is a reference to the famous children's author Shel Silverstein, whom the band had admired and whose work they had read as children. They have released a total of 11 studio albums, seven EPs, a compilation album and a live DVD/CD. Their lineup remained unchanged for eleven years from December 2001 to September 2012, then consisting of lead vocalist Shane Told, lead guitarist Neil Boshart, rhythm guitarist Josh Bradford, bassist Billy Hamilton, and drummer Paul Koehler. In September 2012, the band had announced that Neil Boshart had been fired and would be replaced by Paul Marc Rousseau, who also joined Billy Hamilton on backing vocals. "Samantha" is a song by the American alternative rock band Hole. It is the fifth track on the band's fourth studio album, Nobody's Daughter, released on Mercury Records on April 23, 2010. Written by vocalist Courtney Love, The Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and music producer Linda Perry, "Samantha" was originally planned as the album's lead single. The Contortionist is an American progressive metal band from Indianapolis, Indiana. Fit for a King, also known as FFAK, is an American metalcore band from Tyler, Texas formed in 2007. The band comprises guitarists Bobby Lynge and Daniel Gailey, vocalist Ryan Kirby, bassist Ryan "Tuck" O'Leary, and drummer Trey Celaya. They released two independent EPs entitled Fit for a King in 2008 and Awaken the Vesper in 2009. They also released one independent album, Descendants, in 2011. After the band signed to Solid State Records, they released six studio albums through this label: Creation/Destruction (2013), Slave to Nothing (2014), Deathgrip (2016), Dark Skies (2018), The Path (2020) and The Hell We Create, which was released on October 28, 2022. "Come Walk with Me" is a song by the British recording artist M.I.A. for her fourth studio album, Matangi (2013). The track was written by Maya "M.I.A." Arulpragasam and Switch, and produced by the latter. M.I.A. first uploaded a demo of the track online in April 2012, and the final version of the song was self-released worldwide as a digital download, under exclusive license to Interscope Records, on 3 September 2013. The song was the third single from the album, and was performed the on The Colbert Report, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the 2013 YouTube Music Awards and during the Matangi Tour. "Come Walk with Me" was met with acclaim from music critics.
