Background

The company was formed through the reorganization of Disruptor Beam, a game studio that was founded in 2010 as a social network game developer. [4] The company created Game of Thrones Ascent, a social and mobile game based on Game of Thrones franchise [5] [6] [7] released on Facebook and web platforms in 2013, followed by iOS and Android devices in 2014. [8]

In 2014, the company announced a partnership with CBS to create Star Trek Timelines , a strategy roleplaying game featuring characters from Star Trek . [9]

In 2020, Beamable was reorganized and subsequently funded with $5 million for a new Unity-based platform to support backend and live operations for online games, [10] and announced raising a total of $10M as of November 2021. [11]

The game is an adaptation of the series of fantasy novels A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin and the HBO television series Game of Thrones. According to Martin, the game features "alliance building, treachery, marriages, murders, and most of all the constant struggle to be the greatest house in Westeros." The game includes the ability to engage in the dynamic political and social intrigue featured in the books and television show. The game had over 9 million registered players though daily activity suggested 3 thousand active players.

Viewdle is a Ukrainian facial recognition company. Google was reportedly close to closing a deal to buy the company for between $30 and $45 million in October 2012. In October 2012, Google bought Viewdle to improve Android's augmented reality and face recognition. The company is an expert in the field of computer vision.
