The Beast of the East is an American high school folkstyle wrestling tournament which has taken place since 1993. Since 1997, the tournament has been held at the University of Delaware's Bob Carpenter Center.
It is widely considered one of the top three in-season high school wrestling tournaments in the United States, along with the Walsh Jesuit Ironman and the Powerade Wrestling Tournament. Past champions include Kyle Snyder, David Taylor, Jordan Oliver, Franklin Gomez, Lance Palmer, and Ed Ruth.

Mark Jayne is a former American wrestler. He established himself in wrestling at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. Jayne was a three-time state champion in for St. Edward, while his team won the Division I state title all four years he was there. The team also won three national titles during his time there in 1998, 1999, and 2000. Many feel the 1998 and 2000 version of the St. Edward wrestling teams were the best ever in Ohio history. During Jayne's time in high school he became a three-time Ironman champion, the first-ever four-time Medina Invitational champion, and was an Iron-Beast his senior year winning both the Ironman and Beast of the East tournaments in his only year there. His senior year proved very dominant by falling his way through sectionals, districts, and state. By the time he completed his high school career, he held the record for most career victories at the prestigious St Edward High School. He followed this up by being named to the USA Dream Team as a senior in 2000 as well as the Cleveland Plain Dealer "Lee Kemp Wrestler of the Year." He also found success in Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, earning seven All-American awards at the USA Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota. This includes a national title, a runner-up, and two thirds in the Junior division. His junior year he won the Ultimate Belt series for the high school division in Greco-Roman in both Ohio and the country.

The Ironman Wrestling Tournament is an American high school folkstyle wrestling invitational tournament. The IRONMAN Wrestling Tournament is one of the most prestigious and competitive high school wrestling tournaments in the country. Held every December at Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, the IRONMAN attracts the best wrestlers from all over the country and some of the top college coaches.The tournament is divided into two divisions: the division for boys and the girls division. They each have 14 weight classes. Each weight class has a championship bracket and a consolation bracket. Both tournaments will be wrestled folkstyle. The IRONMAN is a three-day tournament.

Dean Heil is a former folkstyle wrestler from Brunswick, Ohio. Heil wrestled collegiately at Oklahoma State, where he was a three-time All-American and two-time NCAA champion.
Zahid Valencia is an American freestyle wrestler and graduated folkstyle wrestler who competes at 86 kilograms. As a folkstyle wrestler, he was a two-time NCAA Division I national champion and three-time Pac-12 Conference champion out of Arizona State University. In freestyle, he was the 2019 US national champion and has competed at multiple international tournaments, winning gold at the Matteo Pellicone Ranking Series 2021 and 2021 Poland Open and bronze at the Grand Prix de France Henri Deglane 2021.

In freestyle, he placed second at the '19 US National Championships and is a two-time US U23 National Champion. As a folkstyle wrestler, he was an NCAA Division I National champion, a four-time All-American and a Big Ten Conference champion out of the Ohio State University.
Beau Reynald Bartlett is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes internationally at 65 kilograms and collegiately at 141 pounds. In freestyle, he claimed a bronze medal from the 2021 Junior World Championships. He is currently a senior at 141 pounds for Penn State.

He was previously signed by the WWE under its NIL program. In freestyle, he claimed a bronze medal at the 2018 Cadet World Championships and was the 2020 US junior national champion. In folkstyle, Ferrari is a NCAA Division I national champion and Big 12 Conference champion out of Oklahoma State University, and was the top-ranked high school wrestler at the time of his commitment. Ferrari left the OSU wrestling team after local police announced he was under investigation for sexual assault. On August 3, 2022, Ferrari was charged with felony sexual battery. On October 6, 2023, the case was dismissed, with the 15 month citation being closed by the plaintiff's lawyer, citing "vicious attacks" and "harassment" directed at the client as the principle reason.
