Begum Anwar Ahmed was a Pakistani feminist,who served as chairman of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in 1958 and as the 6th president of the International Alliance of Women from 1964 to 1970. [1]

The Northern Alliance,officially known as the United Islamic National Front for the Salvation of Afghanistan,was a military alliance of groups that operated between late 1996 to 2001 after the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) took over Kabul. Pakistan International Airlines Flight 544,a Pakistan International Airlines Fokker F27,was hijacked on 25 May 1998,shortly after it took off from Gwadar International Airport,by three armed men belonging to Baloch Students Organization. The aircraft,with 33 passengers and 5 crew members aboard,had just arrived from Gwadar International Airport,Balochistan,and was set to land in Hyderabad Airport,Sindh. The hijackers demanded that the aircraft be flown to New Delhi,India. The Army's Special Service Group's Haideri Company,7th Commando Zarrar Battalion,SSG Division,accompanied by members of the Pakistan Rangers,stormed the aircraft,while the Pakistan Police surrounded the plane. Group Captain Cecil ChaudhrySJ,SBt,PP was a Pakistani academic,human rights activist,and a veteran fighter pilot. As a flight lieutenant,he fought in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 and as a squadron leader in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. During the 1965 war,Chaudhry and three other pilots,under the leadership of Wing Commander Anwar Shamim,attacked the Amritsar Radar Station in a difficult operation. He was awarded the Sitara-e-Jurat for his actions during that mission.
Darul Uloom Haqqania or Jamia Dar al-Ulum Haqqania is an Islamic Seminary in the town of Akora Khattak,Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province,northwestern Pakistan.
