Baharwal Kalan (Urdu : بہڑوال كلاں), is a village in the Union Council of Kasur District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. [1] It is part of Pattoki Tehsil. The name is also spelled as Baherwal Kalan and was the seat of power of the great Nakai Misl.

Rani Datar Kaur, the daughter of Sardar Ran Singh Nakai, the third ruler of Nakai Misl of Baherwal, was the 2nd wife of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The arranged marriage nuptials took place in 1798 at Baherwal Kalan. Originally named Raj Kaur, she changed her name to Datar Kaur as Raj Kaur was also the name of Ranjit Singh's mother. Maharaja lovingly addressed her as Mai Nakain. In 1802, she gave birth to Kharak Singh, the heir apparent of Ranjit Singh. She took an active interest in the affairs of the State. She died on 20 June 1818. Her grandson was Maharaja Nau Nihal Singh (1821–1840).

The misl fought against the Sials, the Pathans and the Kharals before being incorporated into the Sikh Empire of the Sukerchakia Misl by Ranjit Singh.

Burj Ran Singh, also spelled as Burj Ran Singh Wala, is a village in the Chunian Tehsil of Kasur District in West Punjab (Pakistan). It is named after third Chief of Nakai Misl Sardar Ran Singh Nakai.
Sardar Heera Singh Sandhu (1706-1776) was the founder of Nakai Misl, one of the twelve Sikh Misls that later became the Sikh Empire under the leadership of Ranjit Singh. Heera Singh Sandhu was killed in battle near Pakpattan when he partook in a battle against a Chisti army of devotees of Baba Farid's shrine in 1776.
